Hello every one
Feel free to respond at once!lol I am a 19 yr old single mom who has re-dedicated her life to the Lord. Well a few days ago I had a problem where I started to feel like I was lonely and upset at my child father for how he does me and at the fat that I would have to be a single parent. I know that the devil is playing on my lonliness but I am hurting from what he did to me as well. I need some advice on moving on and keeping Jesus first |

Hello Shadaria,
One of the amazingly beautiful parts of a Christian's life is our new life in Him. When we accept Jesus into our heart and lives, we allow His Holy Sprit to dwell in us. We are no longer pleased with the life of old. What was once amusing, entertaining, and interesting to us can now seem unwanted and in some respects utterly disdainful and ugly. We are a new person, a new creature, as we read below: 2 Corinthians 5:16-18 16Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; But wait, your question is how do we keep Jesus first, how do we move on, move ahead in our life with Jesus. The answer is given many places in scripture but this is perhaps my favorite description of HOW we keep Jesus first: Ephesians 4:22-32 22That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. 25Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. 26Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27Neither give place to the devil. 28Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. 29Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. 30And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 31Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Shadaria, the new life you seek, that new life we all sought and still walk toward is obtained simply by walking toward Jesus and away from the "old man" that represents our old sinful life. Instill in your heart to not look back at the old life. Your future and the future of your child does not lie behind you, but in front of you. Since your life was filled with sinful things, you must fill your new life with Godly things. Here are three simple recommendations and others may provide more to you: 1. Immerse yourself in Him. Read His Word daily. Read to your baby. That's right, a baby is never too young to hear God's Word in story or verse. The devotions contained in this Gods Daily Word web site are excellent and form a wonderful basis to build on. 2. Surround yourself with Godly people, whether they be from church or whomever in your family may also be a Christian. 3. Proclaim your faith in deed and thought. Let His holiness come out of you in things you do, say, and wear. I can heartily recommend the following woman's ministry for teaching, guidance, and enjoyment as you grow in Christ. You may find the series on The Seven Secrets for Singles timly. http://www.reviveourhearts.com/radio/roh/today.php?pid=459 Finally, Shadaria, never look back. Be aware the enemy will try to draw you back. Oh yes, he will. Resist temptations to your former life. The enemy can make it look very attractive. The father of your child may try to lure you. Keep yourself Holy and virtueous. You will never, never regret it. God Bless You. Nick P. |
