Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I am hereby humbly asking for your prayers. (For my mother (mentally&emotionally, for my brother peace, patience understanding to endure (including finances to support our mom) and for the Priest to enable him to do the necessary)

My mother had brain tumor removed last year 14 November 2005 that has grown branches throughout the brain, hence both sides have to be cut open. My mother was doing well after that, the doctors have managed to get rid of 98% of the brain tumor (the doctors are sending it away for tests to see how malignant it is).

But.........unfortunately just after Christmas My Mother had another relapse which we later found out to be "fluid in the brain" they successfully drained it.

Ever since that time she cant seem to stop complaining about the food, the people in the hospital, her family etc etc etc....... she walks around like a lifeless/numb person. She lives in a house that my brother build for her in my brothers back yard, she is on pension. Bless my Brother. My brother is at a loss he is trying everything, nothing helps (my brother told me last night that its getting too much for him and he is already taking 15 tablets a day just to keep calm) Well where I'm concerned I don't even have enough courage to speak to her. All she does is moan complain moan complain, she also says that the food tastes bitter etc... she feels like throwing up etc.... she speaks bad about people.

A short story, she would like knock on my brothers door at 03h00 in the morning and tell my brother to phone another old lady that lives in Pretoria (this old lady looks after her own family and her mom that is 93 years old it would be impossible) (my brother lives in Benoni) to come to her house at 06h00 in the morning to look after her house while the cleaning lady is there. My mom wouldn't be there in the day because she was going off to hospital.

She doesn't even ask us how we are feeling how its going with our lives etc..its like as if only she exists.

To us all (family and friends) she is too much emotionally and mentally, but make no mistake we all pray for her everyday. (and for my brother)

My mother has requested to see a priest and my husband has organized for a priest to go see her, which he has already. I ask for your prayer for the priest too so that he may be filled with the holy spirit as to enable him to do the necessary.

My mother believes that only Benny Hinn can cure her, please help her to ... . She always sends money to his ministry and has bought just about everything about Benny Hinn.

Your post touched my heart, because these are the things our clients deal with and I know it is not easy for your family. I do not know what your mother’s personality had been before the tumor, but know that brain disease or a brain tumor can alter one’s personality making them more difficult. Your brother needs more help in caring for your mother, whether it is more family support or outside help. Depending upon where you live there can be many services that are available – adult day care, domestic or medical care assistance. There may even be some government programs she can qualify for that will help pay for her needs. I would also urge you to locate a care manager in your area who may be able to steer you in the right direction and give you some good advice and help.

Of course, your family’s spiritual needs are of prime importance and you will be in my prayers. Only God can heal, though He may use various agents in the process. Your mother’s faith needs to be in Him alone. An important spiritual aspect of this situation is the admonition to honor our mother and father, which your family has shown in their concern for her. I pray for both your mother and your family the very best in this situation and the Lord’s help in your time of crisis. He is able! Your family will be in my prayers.

Help this family to walk before you in trust and thankfulness. Enable Marisa’s mother to have a heart of thanksgiving. Father, we pray you will restore her health and sense of purpose and help her to see the importance of others in her life. Show Your mercy and grace in their time of need.
