It's been a while since I last wrote. I am facing a very difficulty situation.

My husband and I are still separated, but we talk regularly. He has not recommitted to the marriage but has not filled for a divorce either. He has been to several counselors over the last year +, but hasn't been able to get pass his situation.

Last week I met a wonderful Christian man who I have enjoyed talking to very much, and who's company I would like to keep.

I struggle with my feelings for this friend, with the absence of my husband. For the first time I would like to move on with my life, but struggle with God direction vs. my will.

Please pray my heart be completely sensitive/open to Gods leading, for I know that nothing but God's will will every bring lasting peace and joy.

Thank you for your prayers. God bless.

Hello Faith,

I know your heart is sincere and yearning for more than you have now. Please accept this word with that same sincerity.

You are married to a man and God places the utmost importance on that bond. God would never lead you away from your marriage into the arms of another man, so the question of whether it is His Will for you to do so is a false and dangerous question to ponder. In such matters, we often cannot trust our emotions to know His will, as the flesh will dominate in many instances.

Consider your new friend as well. Does he know you are married? If not, he needs to. If he does know you are married, I would question the depth of his walk if he is willing to take you by the hand and lead you away from your husband. Also, you have only known him a week, so you really do not know him at all.

Finally, your post indicates that your husband has pursued counseling but to no avail. You haven't stated his issues but wisdom would indicate that you should be part of that counseling. You are one with him and as others have said, that is what makes the marriage bond so powerful and holy.

How many years did the Lord wait for you? A broken marriage can be healed Faith, and that is God's perfect will.

I hope this web site will be of help to you. I will be praying for your marriage.

Nick P.

Thank you for your prayers and words of wisdom. My husband and I are going to start seeing a marriage counselor together. I will definitely check out the web-site you provided. Thanks.
In Him, Faith.
