Hi everybody
I am new here and I am so glad I was so curious one night about the existence of things I have not read about, as of yet. I stumbled upon this site looking for questions about the beloved Bible. I know He had planned for me to find this site, He knows my curiousity would have gotten the best of me, He had PLANNED for me to find the answers to my questions in which I did. I found my question, the same as someone elses of course. He made us all differently but yet so much a like at times. I want you guys to pray for me though, I want to know God more, I want to grow closer to Him, I know that He does exist but at times the evil and ever so destructive Satan gets in my ear and makes me question things I shouldn't. In all actuallity, I should be saying NEED instead of WANT. I need the prayers and truthfully I can't say I am one that can pray that well. I have once felt that inner peace that He wants me to feel, I sure am missing it.

Hi Maxine! I'm so glad you stumbled onto this site. I want to encourage you in the area of prayer. I can see from your post that you know how put into words what is in your heart. This is also the best way to pray to God. You I would say you have a very good ability to pray. Perhaps all you are lacking is a little more encouragement to begin - and continue. Our Heavenly Father already knows what is in your heart but He's longing to hear your words.

I too am glad that you happened upon this site, which I do not think was by accident. I relate with you in that prayer has always been hesitant and difficult for me. Yet I have seen the Lord answer my most simplest prayers because of their sincerity. And because He wanted me to know that He is a "God Who sees". I have even been a "prayer intercessor" for what was once a struggling ministry and watched it grow into a very vital ministry for the Lord. Thank God, that he hears the prayer of our hearts, regardless of how inarticulate we are.

One of the most fascinating things about prayer to me is how God uses it to move upon our own hearts. We tend to think of it as a way for God to change our circumstances, but He also uses it to change us. What sweet fellowship! When we begin with "Blessed are You, O Lord ...." He takes it from there.

As a matter of fact, I relate to you in many ways. There was a time when peace was my most elusive request. That peace as I am sure you are well aware can only be found in Him. It is something we all long for, yet something He has promised from the foundation of the world. I pray you will have that rest for your soul.

I hope that you will also avail yourself of Steve’s devotional studies. They will speak to your heart and encourage you in your daily walk.

Hi Maxine,
It is such a blessing to hear you say that it was by God guidance that you stumbled into this site. If you pray and continually read the Bible, meditate on the word, your faith with grow and you’ll start feeling closer to God, a closer bond in the spirit. When you come to God’s presence in prayer, ask for His spirit to guide you to pray in truth, in spirit and according to His will. It is such a beautiful feeling! A renewal of the soul!

I happen to love the song “ when am on my knees in prayer I can move mountains... I can fly higher..... on my knees the world’s a little smaller and I stand stronger ..... on my knees.....” (I don’t remember who sang the song but I love it!)

Pop a praise CD on, when you are preparing for prayer and start to sing along this will lift up your mind and spirit and God is well pleased when we praise His name. Thank you Lord Jesus for the gift of music!
