Well, I'm almost finished with my Medical Assistant course (PRAISE GOD!). Next semester is when I will be doing my externship. I have asked to do my externship at the Department of Corrections. I think it will be very exciting, educational and helpful.

The thing is, I want to also get hired there after my externship is completed. You see, helping prisoners, in my opinion, would be a great help to me and to them. There is such an excellent opportunity to minister to the inmates as well as help with their medical care. My instructor agrees with me on that.

I feel like I'm being led in that direction but I am not 100% sure. I must say, though, that I haven't felt this strongly in my heart about something in a very long time. When the guest speaker (The Director of Medical Services at the DOC) came to talk with us, he said that some of the inmates have nobody in their lives...their families have disowned them, and/or given up on them, or they killed their families, which in turn makes them give up on themselves and they feel hopeless and worthless.

I told Father God that that I believe that together, He and I could make a difference to these men. I told Him that He can use me, my hands, my heart, my genuine love for my brothers, and all the other gifts He has blessed me with to minister to them. I believe they need to be told that He loves them and cares about them. I believe that they need to be reacquainted with, or introduced to, God's Word, God's Love, and God's ever lasting grace.

I am respectfully and humbly requesting that all of you pray for and with me about this. I really feel that it would be a great path to travel, and that I think I'd be the right girl for the job. It's all His decision though. Please pray for and with me for His guidance and that I will see clearly what He wants me to do.

Hi Brenda! This is great news! I am most encouraged by your desire to do God’s will. This seems like a very challenging ministry, but with God’s strength nothing is too challenging. I will pray for you. Continue to have a heart willing to do whatever He asks you to do and you will continue to be lead and your heart fulfilled.
