My girlfriend is temporarily relocating to work on a project w/ me and (due to her childhood abandonment issues) is having a difficult time with closeness. On the other hand, I am having a difficult time dealing with it. My struggle is trusting in God that he is in control. I want it to work out my way! She is very, very scared of committment yet wants love so badly. She comes out to New Orleans on Friday and would appreciate any prayers that will bless this situation as we have never worked together before nor have we shared this much time together. This will be a real test to see if our future together has promise. May God bless you all that pray for this.

God IS in control, if we but allow Him to have His way with us. So many times we want to have our way and in the process we fail to have complete faith in His guidance and timing. He can and will handle all our situations (what ever they are) if we will but allow Him. My prayer for you is that your heart will be first and foremost faithful to and trusting in God. Perhaps your girlfriend will be open to receiving Christian counseling to help her deal with her childhood abandonment issues and her difficulty with closeness. I'm certain this will help her with her fear of commitment and give her an understanding of real love. When she comes out to New Orleans, the real test will be you having faith/trusting in and following Gods guidance. Your future already has promise with God and perhaps, God willing, with this lady you have feelings for. Know that my prayers are with you in this situation.

thank you SO MUCH for that. what beautiful words. i have barely heard from her today and it feels crappy. she is really feeling anxious. i agree w/ you on my challenge. allowing and trusting. that is so hard for me due to my own fears, which can be pretty overwhelming. thank you for your prayers.
