Hi: My name is George and though I have been a memberd of GDW and get the daily devotionals, I am brand new to this prayer request feature, in fact I hope I am doing it right!!! Anyhow, here is my situation I have 2 requests which I offer up to the Lord and I ask for your prayers.

1. I am a very overweight individual startin a medically supervised fasting program. I have done it before and it works but The last time I did it - when I came off the fast I did not adjust to eating normally and I gained everything I lost back. Please pray with me that this time once the weight is gone that I will learn how to eat like a normal person and exercise and keep it off for the rest of my time here on earth. I have some health issues that will be corrected if I successfully diet and I want to be able to be around and bounce my grandkids on my knew - once my children start their families.

2. my second request if for the sale of a home. My wife had a medical condition that required us to purchase a new home. Our old house has been on the market now for about 3 Mos. and the act of making two house payment is really begginning to tax the family budget. I know the house is priced right - we just seem to be in the summer doldrums and are not getting many folks to look at it. Please Lord, if it be your will allow that one special person/family to see my home and make an offer on it. I ask this in your Son Jesus's name. Amen.

First of all welcome to the board. You will find that you will meet an exciting group of people who all have hearts after the Father. There is much love, encouragement as well as truth that comes from those who genuining care.

I will join with you in believing that your journey to become more healthy is successful. I encourage you George to pray and talk to God about this.....a lot. You see George, it isn't the diet, it's your belief in God and yourself. Ask God each and everyday to teach you correct eating habits. Ask Him to give you strength to push away when you are full. Rejoice with them and remind Him how thankful you are that He is with you in this journey and the only way you are able to do it is through His devine grace. You can do this George and keep it off. But you need to always remind yourself where your source of help and strength comes from. I think it is awesome that you are doing this George. It is not an easy journey but you can do it.

Father,

Right now I come to you on behalf of George, his wife and their needs. Father, right now in Jesus' name we concede the outcome to you. You know best. Father help George, build him up in this faith journey that he is about to embark on. Make his choices wise and guide him. Father, when we slips up, let no guilt come on him. Instead may he be quick to repent, get up and start his walk again knowing that you are there for him.

Send the right people to his home and make the sale of his home a quick work.

We love you Lord and ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen!

Bid up the spirit of disobedience. I thank you for giving him the help that he needs. I thank you for your strength - mind, body and soul. I thank you for your loving kindness. I praise you for what you are doing in his life.

We praise you, Lord, for your mercy. We thank you for the selling of his house. We thank you that the buyers will feel your anointing and your grace when they view the house. To those of you who have responded so far God Bless You and thank you!!! An Update the diet is going fine I have turned it over to the Lord it working I am loosing weight and am starting to walk and exercise. Now for the bad news - on the house sale issue we got bad news today a lady who had been through it 3 Times and was preparing an offer find another house!!! We really thought we had a good prospect. I am trying really hard to ask the Lord to send up perspective buyers. I know the house is a good one & is priced right - we just can find that one special soul to arrive yet so please focus on the Divine Realtor (I hope that's not sacreligious) send us the right person/family to see our house and make us an offer. The financial burden of double payments is beginning to wear on my wife & I and is frustrating to as as we feel totally powerless to do anything more. So I will continue to "let go and Let God" - but any prayers you can direct towards our success will be appreciated. I feel the love of this website please help me. Thanks again and God Blees you all.

First of all God knows your concerns and he will help you. Praise God for your courage and willing to listen to your heart. The Lord is your refuge and he has a plan for your life not to suffer but a life full of hope. You are on the right track.

Heavenly Father,
I lift your son George to you asking for your devine intervention in regards to his well being. May your grace and mercy guide him through this task. Show him how to gain strength and courage while he trys to be stern in his eating habits. Break all strong holds of satan and allow him to make this a goal for your glory. Thank You Lord for ministering to George and allowing Him to trust in Your Word and promises.

I am a diabetic and It can be very difficult at times but I need to be stead fast in the word and stop the things I know will kill me. I takes a heart like yours to want to do something about your temple. I have been learning and trusting God's guide and it works for his service and glory. We may experience tough situations, but we can avoid deep depression with his word and prayer. 2 Corinthians 4:8-12 8We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body. 12So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.

God has so much in store for you. I know that it is discouraging but understand that there is a reason why this individual did not purchase your home. There is someone is desperate need to buy your house. They need it for their family. God is holding out for this individual and he is testing your faith at the same time. This buyer is coming sooner than you think but you have to be steadfast and Praise him. Give him the glory! Your house has already been bought.

George - do me this favor. Get a bottle of anointing oil and go around your house and pray for the new buyer to come in and the sell of your house. God will give you all your desires.

I thank you for what you are doing in George's life. I thank you for the new buyer. Lord, sometimes, we don't understand why things happen but the great thing about you is that we trust you and believe that you have our best interest in heart. We thank you and we magnify your name.

What a awesome report on your weight!!! You keep it up and hang in there. God is doing great things and it is only the start of all the wonderful things He has in store for you.

I agree with Nicole! Anoint your home and ask God to bring your buyers there. God is aware of your needs. Keep your faith and hope in God. Do not let these current circumstances sway your thinking and allow your soul to become down-trodden. God has a perfect plan for this situation and you're going to be pleasantly surprise in how it all turns out.

Welcome, George! So glad to have another member of the family to share with and to pray with/for. Robert and I have been through the house thing (we had 3 at one time ) God always provided the funds at the time we needed them. It was amazing. Please do not look at the overall. Look to him each day for the money you need to pay the bills that day. He will provide. It can actually become an exciting time of watching His provision of daily bread, if you are able to see it this way. My prayer for you is this:

Father, You are so mighty and gracious. You are our Jehovah Jireh, our God Who provides our every need. You promise to help us and to deliver us; and, we put our Trust in You, Lord. Minister Yourself and Your healing to George and to his wife, Father. Grant that he may see You in a new way, and may be freed forever from the weight that binds him. Grant that he may come to know You as His daily bread: that he may not need to look ahead for assurance of sustenance; but, that he may rest in the knowledge that You will never allow him to be made ashamed. You will provide for him at exactly the right time and will never be a moment late. We praise You for Your faithfulness, Lord, and for Your great love for us and for George. Blessed be the Name of the Lord God Almighty! Trustworthy is our God!

Good Morning One and all !!!! God is Good and he blesses us beyond Measure...

And now and update - On the diet scene I am pleased - and at the same time humbled to report that I have lost 20 # on the first week of my diet!! Accoding to the figures I lost 8 # of actual fat (That's a double chin or two lol) the rest 12 # was water. The first week or two of this diet the numbers are impressive but are due to that fluid shift and then will slow down. But I will say it's a heck of a motivator to keep at it. The other motivation are your prayers for me. It makes my jouney easier - please keep it up and I will continue to keep you posted on my progress. Now on the the house sale - no good news yet, but I have been doing some spreading of the word. The things I have been doing I believe are the results of "HIM" telling me what to do!! Please continue to pray that that right person or family find my home and make it theirs. In closing I would like to offer this prayer... Heavenly father bless this website, I thank you for the good folks here who support me and of the pettitioners who offer up their need on your alter. I ask that the prayer reqests and the prayers of the supporters be heard by your divine ear, and if it be your will, granted. You praise you and no without you , we can accomplish nothing. Congratulations on the weight loss. It looks like you are going to soon change your name from BigGeorge to George.

As for the typing, I am very slow when it comes to tpying so I do more praying for the different request than I actually post on the board. I am trying to get better at it because some of the post that I read are so helpful and encouraging.

Keep up the good work and keep the faith. The house will sell soon!

A great book to read if this helps is " A Business Plan For The Body" by Jim Karrs. You never want your business to fail so why would you want your body. I hope this book will bless you, it has blessed many of the women in my Women's network. Stay encourage..

I am praying for your success in your dieting. I pray that God will teach and help you to learn nutritional, wholesome eating, and help you to maintain your ideal weight. I know this is hard but He is our help and source of power. I hope that in fasting that you are not depriving yourself of needed nutrients. Perhaps a nutritionist can help you with supplementing and eating better. I am praying also that you will soon sell your house and have your financial needs met.Congradulations on your losss of weight so far.

I am psyched and starting to exercise more. I pray while I walk and offer up my sore feet and sweat to your intentions...

On the home sale front no new news to report.. Please continue to pray that I may be guided and patient. I do have a nibble on a potential renter - and though I really did not plan on that route, we may look into it. I have prayer over this new possibility.
