Shirley and her children went together on 11 aug for her consultation in WI. Drs don't know it all yet, but her omentum is 2 inches thick, which is normally paper thin. They can't tell yet what other organs are involved till they go in surgically. It doesn't look good according to Dr. Shirley's appointment for surgery is on 23rd August. Her family and she are stunned but they are also strong in their faith and deeply love Christ. She is special to me in the fact that she is my daughter's mother-in- law. Please keep Shirley is your prayers as she enters this storm and this fight. An for them to remember that God is in control, no matter what. Thank you to all who have prayed for her. It means so much to her family.

I read a devotional today that reminds us that God is in control and I stand in agreement with you that God is in control in Shirley's life.

We have to trust him with our whole heart!

Father God,
We praise your holy name. We praise you for the healing of cancer from Shirley's body. We thank you for all that you have already done. We praise you for her recovery from the surgery on August 23rd, 2004. We thank you that this will be a testimony.

Please let Shirley and her family know that they are bing lifted up in prayer. God can do miraculous things and I am never surprised at just how awesome He can be.

Encourage them for us and let her know that God has all of this in under control. It is a difficult position to be in, uncertainty, that is. But one thing is for certain. She has a God who loves her unconditionally, who wants the absolute best for her and her final destination is certain as well. May Shirley draw strength and encouragement from that as well.
