This is an email prayer request I received from Lindi in South Africa:

I am 18 weeks pregnant, and have recently found out, that my unborn baby has no kidneys. This is a fatal condition, and although the baby might survive full term, doctors are speculating that it might only live a day or two when born.

Suggestions are that we should terminate, but I can not believe that the Lord has given my an otherwise healty baby, with a perfect brain and heart, and would then ask of me to end his life (yes, it is a boy).

I would like to call up as many people in the world as a can, to start a chain of prayer for the life of my baby.

Please could I ask that everybody pray that we make the right decision and that God makes His plan for us clear. And perhaps, because with God anything is possible, He might make a miracle happen.

You have expressed such great faith. I believe the baby’s life is in God’s hands to do with as He wills. God has a purpose for this baby for whatever length of time he might live. My prayers are that you will be strong in the face of your doctor’s recommendation. Truly, the God who formed the Universe and holds it in place can shape a life. Your family and the baby will be in my prayers.
