I am new to the Message Board and have a prayer request. My son recently married a beautiful Asian girl from Shanghai whom he met in college. Her name is Jai (Jay) and although she has a very sweet spirit, she is not a Christian… but she IS open to hearing the Word of God. She was heavily influenced by Government schools growing up, and is very skeptical of our Bible.

Her father’s (wealthy) family was persecuted and sent to work camps when Mao took over, but after a while were released, and her father has since become a very successful structural engineer, designing multiple commercial buildings in Shanghai and Beijing. He has consistently refused to join the Communist party. Jai is very close to her father. While studying in America, she has maintained close contact with her family on a weekly + basis via cell phone. In the last few months (since December) she has only spoken with her mother and has not really realized how long it had been since she has spoken with her father, Her mother would always say, “Your father said to tell you……”, so she assumed everything was OK.

She found out last Friday that her father has been imprisoned on a “trumped-up” charge by a powerful Communist Party member whom he had disagreed with at work. Her family didn’t want to tell her until after her marriage so she wouldn’t be upset during the planning and excitement of her wedding. She is devastated. Her family has spent a lot of money with attorneys who cannot get him released because the wealthy Communist Party member has paid-off judges. She tells us how she worries her father is not being fed and has nowhere to sleep. Chinese prisons are horrible, not like American. Family members are not even allowed to visit.

My prayer request is that her father be released from jail, and that this release will be a testimony to Jai and her family that God is real and His power can do what man’s cannot. She knows we are praying and that we have put her father on the prayer list at church. How wonderful it would be if God were to release Jai’s father and what a testimony it would be to Jai and her entire family in China.

Please join with us in prayer that God will touch Jai’s heart and that she will accept Christ. And please pray that if it is God’s will, He will release Jai’s father from prison as a testimony of His great power to her entire family.

I thank you for that you are doing in this family's life. I thank you for using Sharon as a vessel to her daughter-in-law. Lord, I stand in agreement with Sharon. We ask that you protect Jai's father, comfort her family and give them your strength as well as peace. We ask that you touch the hearts that has prisoned Jai's father to let him go.
We praise you on their behalf. We thank you for them seeking you even if they are not sure about you. We praise you for planted the seed within. It only takes one to be able to believe.

Father, I ask that you continue to use your daughter. We know and believe that your word is true. We thank you for your light and salvation. We praise you for all the things that you are doing for this family and we ask you to remove everything that is not of you. In Jesus name,AMEN!

Count me in sister. I find it a priviledge to be able to lock arms with all of you in believing and celebrating the victory that God is going to give to us.

God is going to use this evil for good and even more souls are going to be won to Christ because of this.

Lord God Almighty, maker of heaven and earth! Your child has asked that we join with her in requesting Your glory be revealed to her daughter-in-law and her family in China. We are grateful, O God, to come before You in this matter. We ask for Jai's Father's speedy release. We ask for Your love and peace to flood into his cell, and to blanket him with protection. We ask that You speak to him and comfort him and his wife and daughter and that You reveal Yourself and Your dear Son, Jesus to them as their Saviour and Deliverer. Father, Glorify Your Name. Grant that his deliverance will result in praise and glory and honor and thanksgiving to the One True God Who acts in behalf of those who put their trust in Him. Trustworthy is our God!

I am having trouble with my computer being able to post a NEW message but I am able to REPLY so I hope everyone is able to read this.

Thank you all SO much for your prayers! Last night I called my son to see how Jai was feeling and he told me she tried to contact a church in Austin that has a Chinese ministry!!! She did this on her own, with no prompting, so I praise God that she is seeking comfort and support from other Christians. The fact that she called a church and not her friends is truley an act of God's working in her heart and a direct answer to our prayers. Please continue to pray that the Christians she contacts will be able to lead her to Christ as He prepares her heart.

Heavenly Father,

We lift up Jai and her husband to you Lord asking to surround them with your dwelling spirit. Send many Christain people their way to help them through this transaction. Open her heart with the love and grace of your words and promises.

In the name of Jesus we come bodly to Your throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace to help her father in this time of need. May you make and impact on his life may he learn to know you through our intercessory prayer.

May you grace and mercy bring a well balanced life for Jai and husband and may your enter into her fathers heart.

Heavenly Father,
I as join in fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ I thank you for your Word. I thank you for confirming each and every day that your Word is alive and reaching every corner of the Universe, that your Spirit is moving and changing lives everywhere. I thank you for forewarning all that would happen in the Last Days, and for giving us the only way of true Salvation bestowed in the precious blood of Jesus.
Today I pray you lead Jai and her family to receive Jesus. I beg you take care of the physical, moral and spiritual integrity of Jai's father. I pray you hear their cry and give them victory over their enemies. May you Light shine in their time of darkness. May your Justice prevail over the tribulations created by hatred, oppression, betrayal and pride.
