My daughter is going to be married in the Mormon Temple in July. I am NOT Mormon and will NOT be allowed to atend the wedding. She wants me to come to Salt Lake City and wait in the waiting room while someone I hate and others are allowed to attend her wedding. I know I would either be in tears or a rage when she comes out because I, her Mother am forbidden to attend by a church that professes to believe in "Family" above all else. I'm am so torn and hurt over this. I look at Psalms 123:3-4, Matthew 7:9-11, Ecclesiastes 4:12, Hebrews 10:14, Ephesians 2:8, Romans 6:12, Philippians 3:12-14 and John 15:8 from my daily meditations. I remember God's call to be at eace with everyone as far as it is up to you. I think of God's commandment to "Honor your Father and Mother" She is NOT doing that. She is asking me to condone something I do not believe is Biblical. She is asking me to be loving and accepting of the person I feel has led her into darkness and tried to take my place as her Mother. She CAN attend the ceremony. I cannot do this! I need God's words to tell my daughter I can't be there without pointing fingers or laying guilt trips or being dishonest. I do not lie to my daughter. She knows how I feel about her church and this person. I love her and her fiance. They are a perfect match. How can I be true to my God, my husband, myself and my daughter? I'm desperate!!!
