Dear all,
I am new to this forum and just wanted to ask you to join in prayer with my family and I. We have an amazing baby girl Simone, born 3 months early on March 7th, weighing only 920grams. she has overcome all odds, glory to God and three months on is a whopping 2.5kg. God has really been good to her and has brought her this far. She has gone through so much but God has been her strength. She is still in the hospital but as we approach the day she was due to be born, 10th June, the doctors are speaking of her coming home soon. No date has been set yet. She is doing well overall but still requiring oxygen and therefore may have to come home on oxygen. we are praying that the God who began a good work in her shall see it to perfect completion and that she will come off the oxygen before coming home. However, not my will but God's will be done. Please pray with us. |

Father God,
I ask that you continue to be this precious gift strength. I ask that you comfort the parents as they wait patiently for her homecoming. Lord we thank you right now for the hospital staff knowing that every single moment you have your heavenly angles camped around Simone, Lord please her right now and keep her strong. As the parent said not our will but your will be done. Amen Luke 2:49b Did you not know that I must be about My Father's business? |

Thank you all for all the prayers said on behalf of Simone. Surely God will honour his Word that says if two of us on earth agree about anything we ask for, it will be done for us by HIM in heaven. Simone is doing well. We wait patiently in hope and faith for her homecoming. We know God has such great plans for her life and we just pray that God will show us as her parents the perfect way to teach and instruct her in the ways of the Lord and to use her life as a testimony to the goodness and faithfulness of the Lord.
Two days after she was born God gave me Ezek 16;6-14 for her. In part it says : "Then I passed by and saw you kicking about in your blood and as you lay there in your blood, I said to you "Live!" I made you grow like a plant of the field. You grew up and developed and became the most beautiful of jewels. Your breasts were formed and your hair grew, you who were naked and bare......" God indeed has blossomed this precious little girl. I intend to post photos of her development since birth soon. As she prepares to come home, Ps 119:74 speaks "May those who fear you rejoice when they see me, for I have put my hope in your word." |

Mwayi,
Your Simone is a blessing to us all. Even though she is young in age, her faith is great. She is an example to us all, to have total uninhibited faith in God. To rest in His care knowing that He will take care of us. Father God, Abba, Daddy God, we lift up Simone to you, thank you Father for the display of faith that she has, may this be a testimony to your Grace and Love for us. Be with her parents as they care for her and watch her grow. May they be ever mindful of your Grace and tell all who ask that it You Father that has taken care of her. We lift our Praise to You Father. "I am your Creator. You were in my care even before you were born." (Isaiah 44:2) Amen! Give her a hug for me. Tell her we love her! In Christ, Brian |

People of God,
Please please pray. Simone is doing absolutely great. Just come back from the hospital. My husband decided to turn off the oxygen to see what would happen, if her saturations would go down. 15 minutes went by then half an hour and she was doing great and we informed her nurse that we had taken it off, she said to see if she could go an hour. People of God, by the time we were leaving, it has been 3hrs 15mins. So the plan now is this, if she can stay off it for the next 24 hrs then she will be put on a monitor for another 24 hrs and if the readings are good, she gets to come home without the oxygen. Note that preparations began on Monday to discharge her with oxygen and the people are supposed to be coming home to install it. We just ask God to give her the strength to stay off it completely and to mature her lungs completely as he has everything else. We serve a mighty God. Because He lives... Mwayi |

Father, what You have begun, please bring to completion according to Your Word! We praise You and thank You that You are able to mature Simone's lungs so that they can support her fully without additional oxygen. Please touch her and use her to show Your power and grace. We look to You, our Author and Sustainer. We worship and Praise Your Holy Name! Trustworthy is our God!

Just wondering how Simone is. Father be with this family and bathe them in Your peace and Your protection. Watch over this precious baby and grant her health and strength. May her life be a blessing to everyone she comes into contact with. May You be in her and flow through her all the days of her life. May she reflect Your beauty and Your truth. We ask in the Name of our Lord, Jesus! Trustworthy is our God!

Needing you to join in prayers with us. Simone is doing well, been home 2 weeks this Saturday. She feeds excellently but she is suffering from reflux, which is like heartburn and indigestion so everytime she has a feed she brings up most of it and this is so heartbreaking. We can also see that she is in pain when the acid is coming up. We are worried about her weight what with all the vomitting. We will have her weighed tomorrow and pray she is gaining despite all this.
Please pray that the God who brought her through worse complications than this shall surely bring her through the reflux. We are standing on Exodus 23:25 "Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you." Also kindly pray for us as parents because it is painfully upsetting because we don't know what to do to help her. She is on the maximum dosage for the medications for the reflux but because she is given them before the feed, when she brings the milk up she is bringing up the medication as well. As a mother, I feel so helpless and angry. Also i blame myself and think there must be something wrong i am doing because she wasn't vomitting this much when she was in the hospital. please please stand in prayer for us all. thank you. |

Dear Mwayi Zulu, Just a couple of questions: 1) Are you able to breastfeed? 2) If you are breastfeeding, are you on any medications? 3) If you are giving formula, have you tried soy? 4) Can you give the medications after she has taken in a bit of "milk" so her stomach can be coated?
My prayer for you is this: Lord God, Almighty! Maker of Heaven and Earth! You have given this beautiful and precious gift to Mwayi Zulu and her husband; but, this complication is causing both the child and her parents great distress. We know and believe that You alone are our healer and our defender. Lord God, touch baby Simone with Your Peace. May it flow throughout her body and minister healing to her bowels and her digestive system. Lord, God~grant her the ability to feed without discomfort, distress, or reprecussions. Grant that her food may stay down and nourish her as You have ordained. Grant her parents strength and rest. May this showing of love from You bring them joy and confidence that You do act in behalf of those who serve You. Grant that they may understand and be able to rest knowing that "the angels in heaven (of your little ones) always see the face of the Father." (Matt 18:10) You are readily available to help and to respond. We worship You, Lord, and give You thanks and glory and praise for Your kindness to Mwayi Zulu and her precious little one. In Jesus Holy and Mighty Name we pray! Trustworthy is our God! The best is yet to be... |

Hello Soteria,
Simone has been having breastmilk. I have loads of expressed breastmilk for her from the time she was in hospital and she has been having some from the breast as well. We were prescribed a thickener to add to the EBM when i give her through the bottle. I want to give up breastfeeding as i feel it could be aggravating the situation through the foods i may be eating eg spice and gassy foods so i am just trying to finish the stocked up ebm and then go on to formula. no i am not on any medication. i have been told a formula called actimel(sp) is closest to breastmilk so was going to try that. is soy supposed to be better? willing to try anything. Didn't have a good night last night. Simone was writhing in pain and her voice this morning sounds a bit wheezy like dry or sore throat. Had her weighed. she is now 7lb3oz from 6lb13 last Friday. the health visitor says it is a good weight gain, glory to God. We see the hospital consultant next Tues so will speak to him about the reflux. it is really distressing, i need God's strength. my husband was saying last night how the devil just steals your peace and joy and tells such lies and you begin to think God this is not fair, we've prayed. But then, the Holy Spirit just reminded us that God has been there since her conception. As Isa 46:3,4 says..you whom I have upheld since you were conceived, and have carried since your birth.Even to your old age and grey hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and i will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you" We can only wait and pray but God grant us peace and patience. thank you all for your support and prayers. We certainly need them. Because He Lives... Mwayi |

Dear Mwayi, so many things now can hurt their tummies. I have had several friends go through this. I would first ask if the thickener could be causing a problem. If it's not absolutely necessary, you could discontinue it for a few days and see if she settles down. Soy gets around certain allergies. Unfortunately, if her little tummy or digestive system is "sore" from the acid reflux, it may take a bit of time for it to heal. I do know that my friend had the best luck with the soy milk; but, I'm sure each case is peculiar to the child's system. I don't know if you have the blood test where you are that shows allergies; but, we have a simple blood test in the States that will reveal up to 100 of the most common allergies. If you have that, it is relatively inexpensive and might help expedite a solution.
Do you have anyone at all who would stay over for a night to take care of her so you and your husband could sleep through the night? You need to stay as rested as you can so that you can be strong for this task physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. We will continue to bear you up in prayer. I wish we could help you in the flesh; but, our prayer will be that someone will come alongside you and help. Father God, You have been so gracious to give Mwayi and her husband this precious little one. But, Lord, we know that when You bless us, You add no sorrow to it (Prov. 10:22). And, so we ask that You continue Your blessings upon this family. That You touch Simone with Your Hand of peace. That You minister healing to her tiny body and allow her the ability to eat without distress. Touch Mwayi and her husband with Your supernatural strength, Lord. Grant them the ability to know that You have been with them since before they even knew, and that You will carry Your plan for their lives to a beautiful completion. Bless their home. Bless their love for each other and for their child. Send friends and family to help them, Lord...to relieve them so that they can rest. Glorify Your Name in this situation and the Name of Your Dear Son, Jesus! For it is in His Name that we ask these things of You, knowing that You hear and will answer us. Trustworthy is our God! The best is yet to be... |

Hi Everyone,
I was just going through all the postings I had made. I just can't believe how awesome and mighty God is. Sometimes we do forget. Simone is now almost 2 and a half and starting nursery next month. You ought to see this lovely young woman. She is soooo beautiful and full of the Spirit of God in her. Each night before going to bed when we pray as a family though she is not yet talking fluenty she mutters "eeeeh(her language for protect) mommy, eeeeeh daddy, eeeeh shwa (her brother joshua) mamen!! I just marvel at the goodness of God. She has developed like any other 2 and a half year old. She is all over the place and is just adorable to look at. Father, I thank you for your goodness. I thank you for your mercies, for your love, for your faithfulness to my husband and I. I reflect on your goodness and I am so humbled. I come in repentance for the times I forget all you have brought me through and I begin to murmur and complain. Thank you for reminding me of Who you are and what you are able to accomplish if only we have faith. I lift Simone up to you this day. Lord, may she be all you created her to be. May she be a testament of your love and mercies. Let her very life be a testimony to all of what a loving and faithful God you are. Lord, may she never come out from the umbrella of your protection. I commit her life to your service. Set her apart Lord for yourself. Even as she is able to pray to you at such a tender age, water it and make that relationship with you grow. She is beautiful both on the outside and within. I give you all the glory Lord. Thank you for all the people who stood in prayer with us during that time. Bless their homes and families and meet them at their point of need today. I also pray for all parents with sick children in hospitals or at home. Be thou their strength and their guide. Teach them to find their hope in you. Make them aware of Your presence as YOu did us. Be there for them Lord for they need you desperately. I love you Lord and I thank you for I know you are more than able. In Jesus' name. |
