Dear Ivy, please understand that when I say this, it is out of love, and experience. Just recently, the Lord showed me that I was disdaining the job and the gifts He had given me. I, too, believed that full-time ministry was of more value to Him than what I do (create websites and marketing materials). I actually felt that I was simply biding my time until I could do what I was supposed to be doing. Then, we did a study of Malachi. I read it through 3 times. And, the Holy Spirit spoke to me and showed me that I was looking at the gifts of the Lord as dung. I was treating them with contempt. He has given you this job at this time for His purposes. It's the only thing He wants you to do at that moment. It is just as honorable, and just as important as what you might be doing if you were not at that job. You will have opportunities to minister Jesus Christ to people He brings to You throughout the day. They may not ever meet you except that you are in that position at that time. Should He ever decide that "full-time ministry" as you picture it is what He wants, Praise God! But, we are in full-time ministry everyday, now. This is His plan for our lives today.
This understanding has changed my outlook on my work, my usefulness, everything. I am no longer in limbo. I am in service to Almighty God. Everything I do for my work, no matter how seemingly insignificant, is furthering His Kingdom. I don't understand it all. I can't see much of it, really. But, I believe He has ordained that I be here at this time for my good and for His glory. Father, we come to You in behalf of Ivy and her husband, and we ask first of all that they may be allowed to see the bigger picture. Grant them the ability to see the value of their "tent-making". Grant them the ability to see the value of their offerings to You. Grant them peace. Supply their every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Provide this day, their daily bread. Grant that they may learn to trust that tomorrow's bread will not be late; You will be certain to provide. Bless them, Father, with Your Son Jesus. I ask this is His Precious Holy Name! Amen (Trustworthy is our God!) The best is yet to be... |
