Our son Richard is 17 and has been in detention for the past three weeks. He was on probation and doing very well but was placed out of the home partly because of a poor choice I made. I have confessed that and worked hard to prove my poor choice was a once in a lifetime thing for me. Despite all that, his judge locked him up until she could have a third evaluation done of him to be sure he was not a threat to the rest of the family. It was a tough Christmas. Even though the evaluation came back in his and our favor she refused to allow him home in time for New Years or even a day pass as most of the boys there get. So he missed much school, his holiday wrestling tournments, and family time. We are all depressed and heartbroken. I ask that any brother or sister out there that knows heartache over a prodigal will pray that the judge will allow him home today or this week (whenever she finds it convenient to review the case). Richard seems remorsefull for his poor choices and the entire family has worked hard in counseling to get him back. I am asking for Gods Mercy on our family. Through all of this and much prayer and counsel from wise Godly men and Women, I also realized I had been placing my family ahead of God in my life. I think thats the lesson for me here. So also I pray for wisdomm and humility in learneing why God has allowed this in our lives.

I thank you all in advance for your prayers and thoughts. I am new to this board and pledge my prayers to your concerns as well.

Jeff M,

I will stand in agreement with your prayers. I myself in my earlier teen years and even till I was 32 years old, had to deal with poor choices I made. I know God can mold and shape and prune your son for his service and glory. He did it for me even after living the life of a major drug dealer. The Lord has freed me from bondage 11 years now. He has helped me and allowed me to minister to many others with similar bondages. I pray your son will submit his heart and life to the Lord Jesus. The Lord will honor him and if he ever needs to talk I can be reached through this message board. I will be in pray for you and your family.

God Bless You and Keep You!

To all who may read this in the next 24 hours. The judge sent word last night that she has more requirements for our son to come home. We have court scheduled for 8 - 9 on Thursday Jan 12 EST. Both Richard and our family have our hearts set on it. This has been long and painful. However we have a bad feeling that something is amiss and he will not come home again. Please be praying that the Judge will have mercy on us. Richard is not incarcerated for a crime or as part of a sentance. He was only supposed to be there for an evaluation by a therapist of the judges choosing. When this came back matching two previous others that he is no threat and he should be sent home, she went looking again for other reasons not to let him come home. So 3 therapists (two MSW and 1 PHD) two lawyers, and his PO all agree he should come home. We want him home and he wants to come home, but the judge is not in agreement.
Please be praying and also that whatever the result, Gods will be done in our lives and we accept it as that. It is so hard knowing that our Father in heaven is doing all this for a reason we do not understand. I know this but my heart is still aching. Each week in the last month as our hopes have risen and fallen and I have to visit him in jail it hurts more each day.
Thanks for reading this and for your prayers.

Our Lord is working even when we don't think he is. He hears your request and wants you to seek him even through this trail 11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.Jeremiah 29:11. 10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.Isaiah 41:10

I will continue to stand in agreement with your prayers! In Jesus Name! Amen!

Good news all! The Judge gave yus our son back yesterday! And the PO even expedited his release from the detention faxciltiy! What would have taken 3 - 4 hours only took an hour! Normally he would have been placed in a holding cell at the court house but the PO had a sheriff drive him back and release him right away! Praise God! And thank you all for praying! I am so gratefull for anyone that prayed in my church, family and online community! Thank you again!

Jeff M,

Thank you for holding on to the grip of faith. We have to press in and thank God for everything. Let's praise the Lord today and know that he is still in charge of our lives. If your son needs a word of encouragement reply to this post. Glory To God!

Psalm 66:17-20

17 I cried out to him with my mouth;
his praise was on my tongue.

18 If I had cherished sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened;

19 but God has surely listened
and heard my voice in prayer.

20 Praise be to God,
who has not rejected my prayer
or withheld his love from me!

Keep us updated!

great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23
