Hello everybody,

I am new to the GDW message board, one reason why I joined is that I have the urge to walk closer to GOD in Jesus, but I feel I am binded to certain sins, and I cannot escape. It seems like everything given to me is falling away, including my lovely wife who wishes to leave me. My wife leaving made me realize that no human being is capable of perfect love, and that human being should NEVER make a promise to anyone. Please pray for me, I need a relationship restored with Jesus, and then to my wife!

Be encouraged my friend and know that there is no sin greater than our God. As a matter of fact in every situation and every tempation God makes for us a way of escape. We have to keen enough to look for it. How? Through prayer, reading and knowing the Word of God, through accountability partners, being connected with a Bible believing, spirit-filled church.

Carl, you can escape your temptations, no matter how hard or tempting they may seem, if you give yourself over to Christ and live by the power of Christ in your life. I am not saying it is easy and will happen instantaneously because it will not. It will take work, hard work and lots of it. But the reward will be worth it.

I understand your feeling of losing everything. I lost the love of my life for over 25 years 18 months ago. I hit rock bottom emotionally and spiritually. But Carl, now is when you have to make the tough decisions and decide who you are going to live for. I chose Christ. Though it has been a very hard road to walk, going through divorce because my spouse cheated on me. I do not regret the road. I have become and still am becoming a new creation. God can take everything that is wrong or has been wronged against you and use it to His glory if you let Him.

God knows the plans He has for you. They are good plans, plans for good and a future. Not plans to harm you. You need to know that and grab a hold of it with everything that you have.

Carl, although we may not be capable of "perfect" love, we are called to agape' love. This is the highest of all loves and is evident when you place the betterment of others above your needs no matter what the cost. It is truly a high standard to live by, but our Lord Jesus Christ lived out this very love as our example. In a word, agape' to a commitment. It is possible Carl to demonstrate agape' love to all on a consistent basis. However, it does require a stripping away of self in preference of others. It is difficult at times, but it is what Christ called us to.

Scripture is clear about promises. It tells us to be careful what, when and to whom we make these to. However, your marriage is more than a promise, it is a commitment to your wife, God, and yourself. When you said your vows you told your wife and God in the presence of witnesses that you would commitment yourself to her betterment no matter the cost. That is for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health till death do you part. You may not be perfect, but you can be committed.

Carl, I am encouraged by your desire to have relationship restored with both Christ and your wife. It can be achieved. All you need to do Carl is pray this prayer... Father, thank you for hearing my cry. I have sinned again you and because of this broken fellowship with you. Lord I desire sweet fellowship with you again. Please forgive my sins and make me white as snow again by the blood of Jesus your son who died for me. Thank you Lord, for forgiving my sins and allowing me to come into your presence again. In Jesus name, Amen.

Father,

We ask that as Carl prays this prayer that you move on and in him in a new way. Let him know and understand that because you live in and through him that he is a new creation. Old things have passed away and all things become new. Carl has a new start with you Lord. Father, we ask that Carl seeks you and follows you like never before. That he truly casts away the old Carl and lets the new Carl grow into the fullness of everything you have for him. Father, we also pray for a full restoration of his marriage. Father, may you intervene in this situation and bring them back together. We love you Father and praise you for your loving kindness and mercy. We pray these things in Jesus' holy name. Amen.

Howard, really spoke from his heart and all I can do is to tell you to yeild to God and seek him with all your heart. I have been falling apart with my relationship with my wife but God is the reason I can still hang on to my faith, my Lord, and the Word. That is the only thing I know is making me go on with the Love that God provides. In Jesus Name! I pray your heart will become strong and healed. Father God! Open your windows from heaven and allow your son to be touched by your holy spirit so he can be set free from these burdens and trails.
