At Gray Road Baptist Church, one of their missionaries, Mark and Roxanne Shingleton, South Africa, sent a prayer request in a letter in regards to a child named Mêlée.
One of the ministry endeavors is traveling to different points in their region of South Africa to bring the word to the children. There is one child, a boy who is regularly showing up named Mêlée. He seems to be the one connecting to the word of God. But unfortunately, Mark saw him being beaten by the other boys, even being severely kicked on the ground. After witnessing this and admonishing the culprits, Mark asked Mêlée if he wanted him to walk him home. Mêlée told him he was homeless, his parents both dead and that’s why he has been continually at the hands of others, being beaten by them. After going home, Mêlée weighed heavy in Mark’s heart and so, Mark is embarking on going through the process of helping Mêlée with a goal of finding a foster family there for him. He sent a request for prayer support for Mêlée’s protection and for God’s help in this. He is one of the 143 million orphans in this world we share. |
