What happens to us if we take our own lives?
One is forgiven for killing someone else, so why not if one kills themselves? What does God really say about suicide? I mean, if our life is a "gift" why are we forced to keep it if we don't want it? I really need advice...I am completely desperate. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Brenda, |

Hi Brenda! What happens to us if we take our own life? I will assume you mean what will happen to a Christian if they take their own life. Well, the first thing that will happen is that you will die. You will be absent from the body and present with the Lord - the same as the Christian who dies in a car accident or with cancer.
At that point I imagine Jesus saying something like: "I wish you would have trusted Me just a little more and for a little while longer. I had some wonderful plans for you. We really could have learned to walk together through the storm." Then He will wrap you in the white robe of righteousness and love you for all eternity. There is no sin which cannot be forgiven - except the sin of unbelief. Yes, life is a precious gift. And no, we are not forced to do or keep anything. I would love to talk with you more about this. I assume there are other issues going on besides Biblical curiosity. Feel free to write me directly at: closerwalk@gdwm.org Steve T. |

Thank you, Steve. I would love to take you up on that offer but my story is huge and you have so many other parts of God's work to do. I don't want to be a burden.
Things are just way too big for me in my life and I have come to a very bad place and don't know what to do. |

And I just don't think I have enough "hang in there" left now. Too much damage.

Hi Brenda! Thanks for writing me at my email. We certainly don't want to leave this thread with people wondering if you are still around.
I would ask anyone who reads this post to please pray for Brenda. Her story, unfortunately, is relatively common but extremely serious. She is quite unhappy and cannot see a reason to continue. Please pray that Christ would intervene in a very real way and provide her a new hope. Brenda - please continue to write!! And NEVER, NEVER, NEVER give up!! |

Please continue to pray for Brenda. She is in great need of God's healing Hand.
