I was curious about ppls opinion of Mel Gibson's new movie - I heard many things about it - I saw a preist & a rabbi disscusing it on Larry King Live & they said that it was a good movie - I heard someone else say that it graphically depicted the crucifixion so ppl can get a sense of it because just reading it on the page you can sometimes miss the scope of what he went through. However during the aforementioned larry King show I heard that they used non-biblical sources for some of the content of the movie & because of that reason I didn't go see it in an effort to not be confused by incorrect doctrines or images (I heard that they had some sort of antichrist baby in the movie that I never heard of in the bible) I want to know if anyone saw it & what they thought, is it worth it for me to go see it & how much garbage did they put in there with the truth?

Slade - Are you referring to the Mel Gibson movie, The Passion of The Christ?
I thought this was a very good movie but that it needed some explanation to be an effective evangelistic tool. It should strengthen the resolve of those who are already saved. The movie had some extra material which has caused some people some concern but I don't feel there was any substantial deviation from essential doctrine. I did not see the movie The Last Temptation of Christ but from what I've heard it's not anything I wish to see nor would I recommend it to others. |
