This concordance might help you find the scripture you want. I use it all the time.

Blesstee,

I believe the verse you are referring to is

Isaiah 62:6

"And on thy walls, O Jerusalem, have I set watchmen all day and all night, who shall never cease making mention of the Lord."

The walls were built to protect Jerusalem from invaders, and therefore, there would be watchmen on the walls day and night to warn of any foreign armies coming to attack. This verse has been used as encouragement to pray for Jerusalem and all of Israel for their protection and safety.

Jewish people still congregate at the Western Wall to pray any hour of the day or night. To me it is a heart-warming sight as it speaks of the conviction of Daniel.

Let us not forget to pray their blinded eyes will be unveiled and they will know Jesus is their salvation.

God bless,

Chelki

Exodus 34:6

Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth;"

"Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!" -- Jesus, the Messiah!, our salvation.

Chelki,
you were right in the first part about the walls being those around Jerusalem - they still surround the "old" city while new ones surround the new area. The western wall however is a different thing. It is the western wall of the temple mount itself and is the only part remaining after the muslim's built el aqsa mosque on top of the temple's foundation. The Jews of Jerusalem have gone there to pray since the temple was torn down in around 70c.e. Oddly, they put prayer requests on paper and stick it in the mortar joints, which makes no real sense when that was never a way of approaching YHVH, I can't imagine WHY they still do it, but I understand the need to go there to PRAY. Unfortunately, the most recent thing I've heard is that the muslims have now forbidden the Jews to approach the wall at all. I'm not sure if that is still going on or if there was some compromise there. I hope so, but I rather doubt it.
Shalom,
kat

Slade,

The Wall cam is my homepage! It is always a beautiful sight to me and helps me keep up with the time difference. I hope you have an interest in Israel – as not only nations, but churches are turning their back on them. Believing Jews in the Land get very little support and have a very difficult life Frown

Kat,

I was somewhat ambiguous. Yes, the Western Wall is not a part of the surrounding walls. It was in my heart to mention since it plays such an important part in their faith. Have you been to Israel? On my last trip it was at the Western Wall on a Shabbat evening that God really touched my heart and made a significant change in my walk with Him!

The Jews and even Christians have been forbidden to go onto the Temple Mount at times. A friend of mine went to Israel in February and her tour group was allowed on the Mount. Only Muslims are allowed to pray on the Mount where the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aksa Mosque stand. I do not expect this to change until there is a change in who controls the Mount.

Blessings,

Chelki

Chelki,
no, unfortunately I haven't been there yet - it's at the top of my list of places I want to see tho. My former inlaws went and had stunning videos of it - and after watching it the first time, it seemed to sink into me like nothing else has...later when it had been awhile since their trip, they were forgetting what the scenes were but I still remembered them very vivedly so they'd ask me to come narrate - weird but pretty cool too. They've been gone a long time now and I haven't seen the tape in many years so I doubt I could still do it for many places but it made me want to go there badly! As they proclaim each passover - Next year Jerusalem! (ever hoping!)
