The 1000 year reign and 7 year tribulation Login/Join

I have been taught that Christ will only return one time and take both the living and dead with Him to heaven for eternity etc. I am studying Revelation and the 1000 year reign and 7 years of tribulation are confusing to me. Many believe Christ will return more than once, and can anyone show me in the Bible where this is stated? Why is there such a difference in beliefs. Thank you.

Well there is a passage that I am not finding (I thought it was in Ezekiel, Maybe it is Isa 63:1 & Mic 2:12 combined) about Jesus going to Bozrah. There are 2 Bozrah's in scripture & I am convinced it will be the one in Edom because Rev 12:14 says that the woman (most likely Isreal) will go somewhere safe to hide from the antichrist & Dan 11:41 says that Edom will escape from the antichrist's hand.

There is another passage that says that when Jesus comes back He will stand on the mount of Olives (Zech 14:4) so adding the passage I can't find with this one perhaps He will fly over Bozrah, pick up any Jews that belong to Him there & continue on to land at the mount of olives. Also 1 Thess 4:17 says that "we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:" So adding that to what Jesus said Mt 24:27, He will probably pick up His chosen from all around the world on His way to the battle of Armegeddon.

Everyone & the scripture is waiting for Jesus to come back the "second time" (Heb 9:28), but the way I see it Jesus is already here - 2 Cor 13:5 "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?" & Col 1:27 "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:". So if Jesus lives in the hearts of His followers, only His body will come again, His spirit is already within us. So I call the 2nd comming the 3rd comming.

Revelation is a naturally confusing book because so much of it is prophesy wich is better interpreted after the events described took place. Just remember that 1 Cor 2:14 says "the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." So in order to get the proper interpretation of any passage we need to ask God what it is & wait on His timing to tell us. 1 Jn 2:27 says "the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him." So just rely on God to tell you what you need to know.

The last time I studied revelation it made a lot more sence than any of the previous times I looked at it, because I had a premise in my mind that a friend told me: "The seals, trumpets, & bowls/vials happen in cronological order" There are interludes in the revelation that are not in chronological order though, so try to keep that in mind.

I never heard of someone saying that Jesus will (physically) return more than once, so I am unsure what scripture they are comming from.

Hope that this helps & God bless you in your studies.

I offer this about Revelation for your consideration.
Those that overcome in all things in Rev. 2 and 3 will be caught away before the great tribulation. They will meet Jesus in the air along with all the saints since the beginning of creation who have done the same with the light they had. I Thess. 4:13-18. If you can receive this the group that is caught up is the man child in Rev. 12: 5 not Jesus because He was already in heaven. There is some indication that this group will return with glorified bodies to minister to the church that did not "wash their garments". This part of the church will go through the first 3.5 years of tribulation, see vs 6 and Rev 7:14. These are saved as by fire Christians I Cor 3:15 and the OT type is Lot. The promise to escape all the tribulation is in Rev. 3:10 and Rev 19:7-9. These will rule with Christ in His 1000 year Kingdom on Earth. Ask yourself this: Why would Jesus make His bride go through the horror of tribulation when she had willingly submitted, from a heart of loving obedience, to all His training to be spotless and pure? Eph. 5:26-27
At the end of 7 years of the tribulation is the Battle of Armageddon Rev.19:11-21 and Rev 16:16.
See Rev 20:14-15. All the saved as if by fire that died before the catching away before the Great Trib. will not be resurrected until the great white throne judgment. See Rev. 20:5-15. Please note Rev 20 verse 15 with Rev 20:5-6. At the end of the 1000 years the devil is released Rev 20:7-10, defeated, and then the new heavens and earth. Rev 21:1-8.
