Are you pro-life and pro-choice?
pro-life - Who are any of use to stop a life the Good Lord started. Who is God to you? My maker, savior, and friend. Where or who did you learn this from? From a personal relationship with God. Have you ever experienced a miracle? Look all around you Earth itself is a pure miracle. |

I thought they were mutually exclusive, however I guess I am both because I believe that abortion is murder & murder = sin & so therefore I don't think God approves of abortion in any circumstance; however I understand if a woman decided to get one due to incest, rape or immediate danger to her own health. I didn't say that I agree, just that I understand. Mt 6:9 "Our Father which art in heaven" & Rom 8:15 "ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." Abba = daddy; God wants an intimate relationship with us, cp Jer 31:32 "I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD" & 2 Cor 11:2 "I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ" So primarily God is my daddy & my husband; maker is also good cp. Isa 54:5 "For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name". savior is also good cp Isa 43:11 "I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour". Friend, I dunno unless perhaps this verse is in reference to Jesus - Prov 18:24 "there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother" - I just don't like people thinking that Jesus is their "friend & savior" He is their "Lord & savior". By "this" I assume you are in reference to question #2 - my answer is Jn 14:26 "the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." The short answer is "yes" - there are all sorts of miracles, some take the form of circumstance, like being able to get a good parking stall at the time you arrive to your destination, others are more profound. I try not to take the little miracles for granted & I try to have enough faith to give God the opprotunity to do the big ones also. "The more you know, the more you should realize how much you have to learn" Slade "God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you" (1 Sam 12:23) "let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified" (70 Ps 4) All scriptures are King James (Authorized) Version unless otherwise noted http://www.geocities.com/walkinlovelivebyfaith/ |

While I consider my answers to the questions you have posed, may I ask you what your responses to your questions are? Thank you and have a great day.

Hello Betty,
I checked out your website at www.goldenrulefamily.org and see that you are doing research for a book. I preface my responses by first saying that what I say I believe in or what I have experienced versus what is truth are two different things. It doesn't really matter what "I" believe in, but what matters is "what is truth" and the source of all truth in spiritual matters and in fact how we treat our fellow man is in the Bible. This then is our benchmark, the measure by which we determine what is truth and what is man's creation of ideas. 1. Am I pro-life and pro-choice? In it's popular meaning, I am pro-life because God says it is sin to kill. (Exodus 20) Am I pro-choice? In its popular meaning today, being pro-choice means being in favor of ending life by abortion. No Christian will favor this. Period. So it is impossible, in truth, to be both. 2. Who is God to me? In Genesis 1:1, we learn that "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." God is The Creator. End of story. God is God. Who He is to me really doesn't mean a thing in truth, as the truth is already written. The definition of "omnipotent" is having unlimited power or authority. All powerful. This is God and nothing else can fall under this definition. Nothing. 3. Where or who did you learn this from? The Bible. If we learn something else from a person or from reading something else that is contradictory to the Bible, it is not not truth. 4. Have you ever experienced a miricle? Everyone has experienced a miracle - when they were born. Birth itself and life is a miracle which in large part cannot be explained away through science. In intersting site I found today: http://www.abetterhope.com/creation/miracle.html Finally, I know you didn't ask for comment regarding your website, and it is perhaps not for me to trudge where such a request hasn't been made, but I see that proceeds from your book is funding a new school. I see the potential for false "truth" entering your world of influence. If I were a muslim and I wrote about allah (not capitalized on purpose) in your book, but believed in the "golden rule", would my truth be as relevant as Christian's who would repudiate the koran? If I were a taoist, does the same hold true? Simply because other belief systems have a small bit of common ground does not provide for equality of truth as to salvation of the eternal soul. If I say God to me is in all men and includes the sky, rivers, and antelope, and I also believe in the "golden rule", are we on common ground as to where we are in eternity? I have alluded to comparisons that you may have not determined to make, and if I have, forgive me for doing so. The only common ground as to eternity in Heaven is acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Savior. Nick P. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Nick P., |

On a different website I think I may have run into people who claim to be "Christaian" however are advocates for abortion (perhaps I am mistaken, perhaps all the people who are talking in favor of abortion are professing non-christians - however the arguments are interesting if anyone wants to take a look - maybe you can join in & give me some back up {I haven't looked at this recently so maybe there is new stuff}) at least in cirtian circumstances. Gaia online post about abortion As far as this lady is concerned I looked at said site & she strikes me as one of the "all roads lead to heaven" ppl. If you are then please study John 14:6. Nobody else but Jesus can introduce you to the one true God. Hello Slade,
I checked out the Gaia site. At least the Gaia worshipers http://contenderministries.org/UN/gaia.php are bold enough to clearly state they worship the Earth and not the Lord Jesus Christ. They do not hide behind a denominational name that gives an impression that they are Christian. More distressing though is that many professing Christians through the ages have given meaning to the word "apostasy" and today, much more than ever perhaps. I am saddened and so should we all be that so many denominations have lost their way: http://www.rcrc.org/pdf/We_affirm.pdf Apart from these groups are many other churches where their official statement of beliefs appears to be pro-life but their actions do not not show it and their pastors will not discuss it from the pulpit. Perhaps they and their church boards are fearful of offending a portion of the flock. I do not know or understand such reasoning. Abortion is the topic of the century as so it should be as it uniquely devalues God's creation more than any other action that can be devised. So heinous is the act, that man has had to devise a method to live with it (the pro-choice age) so that they can live with themselves. Abortion is a sign of true apostasy of the church and those who would call themselves Christian. The "pro-choice" age hides the Laodicean church, with all it's modernism's like no other time through the ages. As I was reading a bit on this today, I came across this essay that seems to sum up the current state of affairs. I post links like this as the authors say what I believe to be true much better than I can. http://www.everlastinglifeministries.com/pdl/laodicea.asp Again, I am saddened to read how dark the times have become as to truth, virtue, and holiness in our land. At the same time, I know that God is sovereign over all and knows full well the situation in the church today. I am encouraged by His grace, even still, with many churches and peoples in the United States and the rest of he world that has so badly twisted God's Word to justify sin. As we are benefited by God's grace on our land, we must pray and exhort in any way that we can to proclaim the majesty of God's creation and the sin of apostasy that would permit killing a baby.
