INSTRUCTIONS ON USING THE "PRIVATE MESSAGING" FEATURE.
1. After logging on, access your "my space" feature. This can easily be done by clicking your name located under the "On-line Now" section toward the top of the main page of the GDWM Message board. It can also be accessed by clicking the "Go" button in the top navigation bar on any page. Choose the option "My Space" 2. It should then bring up your "My Space" profile. Underneath the "EVE" directory there will be a "Private messaging" option. Click on "Private Messaging". 3. Notice that there is an option to click on "New Private Message" as well as see if any other members have invited you to a private message. (Remember to check your private messaging often if you think a member may have sent a meeting request to you, see the "NOTES:" section below for automating this). 4. Once you click on "New Private Message" you can click "Find buddies" at the bottom to send a "Private Message" to a member who may or may not be on-line. NOTES: If you desire to receive an E-mail anytime someone sends you a "Private Message" or replies to an existing one, go to the "Notifications" feature located directly beneath the "Private Messaging" feature on your "My Space" profile. Click on the "edit" located next to the "All Private Topics" subscription. Then check the appropriate boxes. SHORTCUT: You can send a private message to a member who is on-line by clicking once on the members name located under the "On-line Now" section. Another box will pop up giving the option to Invite the member to a private topic. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Shawn T., |
