DEAR DISCIPLES OF THE WORD,

I AM SO IN AWE TODAY. I GIVE ALL PRAISE AND GLORY TO GOD FOR KEEPING ME FREE FROM DRUGS, ALCOHOL, DEALING, THE VICES THAT ONCE RULED MY LIFE. 9 YEARS AGO ON 11/25/94 I WAS IN TEARS OF JOY WHEN I ASKED THE LORD TO COME BACK INTO MY HEART. HE IS SO AWESOME TO LET A MAN THAT WAS LIVING IN TOTAL DENIAL OF MY TRUE INDENTITY. WHEN I WAS SELLING DRUGS FOR ALL THOSE YEARS I FORGOT WHO NEEDED TO BE IN CONTROL OF MY LIFE. THROUGH MANY PAINFUL YEARS OF SEEING CLIENTS OVERDOSE, AND ABUSE THERE BODIES AND MINDS, TO THE EVIL ACTS OF SIN AND DEFILEMENT. I FINALLY ASK THE DEVIL TO FLEE. IN THE LAST YEARS OF DEALING, I HAD TO PAY 40 THOUSANDS DOLLARS TO THE CARTEL, I WAS WORKING FOR. I THANK GOD FOR ALLOWING MY FAMILY TO LET ME LIVE BACK AT HOME, SO I COULD PAY THEM OFF! I FINISHED IN 1994. I SAID I WILL NO LONGER WORK FOR YOU;I CHOOSE LIFE NOT DEATH. I ALSO PUT IN 5 YEARS PROBATION WHICH I WAS VERY BLESSED; I COULD HAVE LOST EVERYTHING, BUT THROUGH PRAYER AND THE GRACE GOD; I WAS ABLE TO START MY NEW LIFE IN CHRIST AWAY FROM JAIL.

THE LAST 9 YEARS HAVE BEEN SO AWESOME AND REWARDING. THE LORD PUT ME THROUGH A 9 MONTH COURSE, CALLED ALCOHOL AND CHEMICAL TREATMENT SERIES, AT A CHURCH. IT WAS LED BY OTHER INMATES THAT CONVERTED THERE SOULS TO CHRIST. THEY ALSO BAPTIZIED ME IN THE NAME OF JESUS. FROM THAT DAY FORWARD THROUGH JESUS CHRIST; I HAVE MINISTERED TO MANY PEOPLE THAT HAD SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES. THROUGH THE GUIDANCE OF THE LORD AND PASTOR WIGGINS I COMPLETED MY COMMUNITY SERVICE AT A NURSING HOME.AFTER FINISHING MY SERVICE; CHRIST HAD A DIFFERENT PLAN FOR ME AND KEPT ME THERE TO PREACH THE WORD TO THE PATIENTS THAT CAN NOT GO TO CHURCH. I WAS LED IN MY HEART TO SHARE THIS WITH ALL OF YOU! THE LORD IS MY SAVIOUR, AND I CAN DO NOTHING WITH OUT HIM. JOHN 15:5 THE LORD CAN RESTORE ANY LIFE, IF WE LET HIM RULE OUR MIND, HEART AND BODY!! I LEAVE YOU WITH THIS STATEMENT.

Confession For Overcomers

My Body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, redeemed, cleansed, and sanctified, by the Blood of Jesus. My members, the part of my body, are instruments of righteousness, yielded to God for His Service and Glory. The Devil has no place in me, no power over me, no unsettled claims against me. All has been settled by the Blood of Jesus. I overcame Satan by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of my testimony, and I love not my life unto the death. My body is for the Lord and the Lord is for my Body. Amen

THE BIBLE SAYS " I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME" PHILIPPIANS 4:13.

THE LORD HAS NOW BLESSED ME WITH A WIFE,2 LITTLE BOYS,A HOME, AND A BLESSED FUTURE WITH HIM!

THANK YOU FOR LETTING SHARE MY HEART AND WHAT GOD HAS DONE IN MY LIFE!

HE DESERVES EVERYTHING!!!

I SUBMIT MY LIFE TO CHRIST AND IF I COULD EVER HELP ANYONE WITH SIMILAR VICES; FEEL FREE TO GIVE ME A PRIVATE POST.

THROUGH CHRIST WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, My strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:2

Wow! Just fantastic! I am really encouraged by your testimony. Drug addiction has attempted to claim several members of my family, starting with my x-husband. It is wonderful to hear of someone walking in deliverance! At times we are tempted to think that there is no hope. Thank you so much for sharing this!

Thank You for allowing me to touch your heart. It is very important to share what God can do when we think there is no hope.

He restores and makes us who we are in Him!!!!

May you continue to listen with your heart! You have such a kindred spirit!

John,
I celebrate your deliverance! Although, I have never been on drugs or alcohol I have seen some horrible things. I thank God for saving you when he did. I feel that your trials are your testimony. What the devil mint for evil, God used it for good. Those experiences allow you to minister to others including myself and I thank God for you.

I had Avianse (my son) at 16 years old and now he is 16 years old. I am dedicating my life to ministering to teen girls about teen pregnancy prevention. I have always wanted to do that, and the lay off has allowed me time to hear Gods will for my life clearly (with the help of your encouraging) words. Thank you so very very much I love you and admire you. Although, we have not met in person you are one of the men in my life that I respect and admire. I pray to God that my husband (which is one the way) has the burning desire you have to serve the Lord.

I pray blessings on your family and know that you are my hero!

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Hi John,

Congratulations Smile. What an awesome testimoney, What an AWESOME God we have Smile Praise God. It is so encouraging to hear u overcame drugs and alchohol and I feel encouraged. I have been on the receiving end of the effects of these addictions from other people. The people whom I love most could not walk away from them and I have had to leave different relationships because it was too uncomfortable to be around it and other people have left because I could not participate in it and have chosen health.

My father's attachment to alchohol ended up killing him in the end and he wasted away and died in his prime, it was an awful, painful, experience for all of us. What a blessing that u chose God and life and that is totally awesome. I really would like to know how do u encourage others to walk away from these lifestyles, I've tried and I was told by one person smoking dope is the most, beautiful, loving and calming thing in the world to do...Another said that in Genesis it says that God gaves us the plants and the herbs of the fields for our use....and both people are Christian and love God....I have mentioned that the Body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and this makes no difference, so I leave it in God's Hands.

John once again Congrats,

love and blessings in the Lord,

Serenity....

Lori,

There are so many people going through these circumstances. I pray that the sword of the spirit break this stronghold. I BELIEVE WE ALL HAVE A CHOICE IN THE MATTER BUT IT is alot easier when praying disciples are there to lift us up. To love is to be devoted to one another. Romans 12:9-13 says "Let love be without hypocrisy Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuning steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.

Lori,
It is the love of God and your heart, that wants to see your brother well and sound. It was the love of my mom and my complete family; praying everyday, for 15 years, to see me make it through the vices and strongholds that keep me living in hell. I couldn't have done it, without the prayers and faith of all the servants of God.

I am willing to fast and pray for your brother; that he would receive our prays that we would make an impact on his mind and soul.

Please, if he is willing to talk to me, give me a private post or a phone number. I am willing to call him and to pray with Him. Whatever I can do to help, God will supply the guidance in the matter.

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, My strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Psalm 18:2

Tanya,

Thank You for being such a great friend the last months. I feel the words of Christ coming from your heart and that makes tears come to my eyes. I know Jesus is real and lives in many hearts. Your heart is sincere and I admire your courage and faith that you have in Christ. I have to thank you from my heart, I know Christ had a bigger plan for me, at that is why I live. God has giving me a fired up spirit and If I COULD BE A TESTIMONY TO HELP OTHER LOST SOULS, THEN I AM WILLING & READY!

GLORY TO GOD!!!

Tanya,

Go with your desires; God is going to make a major move in your life even more that what you can imagine.

Grace&Faith,

I plan on following God's lead. I know that God wants me to be a strong witness to the many people that are struggling with the same vices. I HAVE STARTED TAKEN men to an Encounters with God RETREAT and it deals with our soul and deliverance. Many people from my Church want me to work with the youth and I am praying for God's lead. It is a good place to start. Thank You from the bottom of my heart!!

SerenityStyle,

I thank God for you and your kindred spirit, I feel like I am on overcharge for the Lord. These words from the heart makes me want to touch even more hurting souls. Life can be great without the vices of drugs and alcohol. I feel even a greater feeling of the Holy Spirit that lives in my heart and mind. There is no greater feeling when Jesus lives inside. I pray that you continue to minister God's Love and Word.

God Bless You and Keep You!!!!!

M,

You have been such an encouragement to see a women that holds on the God like you do. You have been through so much but the Love of Christ keeps mending your soul. I am so glade I was able to send does tapes to you; I believe we all need brothers and sisters in Christ to stand up for eachother. You have been there for me. Thank you for your words from your heart.
I know one day I will see you face to face in glory!!! Till then there is alot of work to do for Christ!

God Bless and your family!!!!

Hi John and everyone!

It is wonderful to read your testimony!!!

I am addicted to sugar - like so many millions of people - got hooked through binge eating when faced with massive loads of distress/trauma in my adult life - it has been my attempt to anaesthetise the pain.

The Lord's been with me ever step of the way on my slow journey of recovery.

Got any advice on giving up? I'm just letting the Spirit guide me - do you recommend any guidelines/books I could use??

Thank you!!

Gill

Congratulations John on your drug-free walk! I believe that God has and will continue to use your testimony to His glory!

Gill, I have a recommendation as I have found myself addicted to sugar too. Recently I made the decision to become serious about making a change in my eating habits and purchased the book “Eat to Live” written by Joel Furhman, MD. You may recognize the name since he was on the US World Figure Skating Team. His website is www.drfurhman.com and the book is available from www.amazon.com God has provided us with such good nutrition. When we eat properly fruit becomes the sweet that we crave. I hope this helps you.

Blessings,

Chelki

Gill and Chelki!

Gill,
Thank you for sharing! I myself has had problems with sugar besides the other vices. I became diabetic in 1989 and since then it has even been more of a struggle. Through prayer and hard work; God has thought me how to be more obedient to the things that harm me. I got a book called God's Way To Ultimate Health. Written by Rev.George Malkmus.
It offers a powerful and timely reminder of the diet God originally provided for mankind. The best information available to modern science supports the wisdom of the diet handed down by God in Genesis 1:29.

I also used a book called sugar busters. I don't have the authors name but I will try to get it for you. This also helped, but the best help I got was from the Lord. I pray everyday that God would guide me in the things I CHOOSE TO EAT AND HELP ME BE OBEDIENT TO HIS WORD.It is not easy but we can all come together in prayer;like on the board ministering to each other. It is powerful and it works!!!

May our Lord intervene in your behalf giving your victory over the need for excessive sugar. May he heal your heart and show his will and his way in how to overcome this vice.

I am with you in prayer!

Chelki,

I thank God for your kindred Spirit!

I gift God all the praise and Glory for allowing my testimony to bring hope and change for all that submit there vices to the Lord!!!!!

The word of my tesimony, My body is for the Lord and the Lord is for my Body. Amen

I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. John 15:5

Hi Gill,

Along with reading these helpful books here r some strategies that have been helpful in overcoming addictions, temptations and still happy that have not given into temptations for six months now yay....

1. Pray

2. Breathe through it - "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul" (Genesis 2:7).

3. While your breathing, focus on Christ, read scripture, or pray with the Lord in your heart and on your mind.

4. Replace with something else, everytime u want a sugar hit, have a glass of water it subsides the cravings and then if u still want something sweet reach for a peace of fruit/vegetable or slice of cheese etc.

5. Take up some fun exercise walking, bike riding, something u really find enjoyable...

6. When u struggle call out to Abba, Jesus and the Holy Spirit for help, go in surrender pose or just open your arms and your hands and Cry the way Jesus cried out on the Cross....to be saved...

I love Psalm 23 for when I am struggling, it gives me strength and serenity....

7. Reward, God blesses his children, every day u achieve being sugar free do something enjoyable with and for the Lord...

8. Replace diet with healthy alternatives, honey, rice malt, Stevia, apple juice (Fresh or 100% no sugar added), jam (sweetened with grape or apple juice) etc...

Also read labels, u would be surprised how much sugar is in a lot of foods.

9. Most of all may God give u a revelation that u have faith and with that faith we can move mountains....and that u will be successful because u have God/Christ/Holy Spirit on your side.

We had to switch to a sugar free diet, it wasn't easy at first, because we fell, got up again and started again and also didn't know a lot of our alternatives. Through trial and error awful effects we finally did it yay....and now it no longer bothers us....

Also God will reward u with his joy and when u experience that joy because u haven't given into the temptation this will be sufficient to stop u from wanting sugar in your life.

love and blessings in the Lord,

Serenity

Thank you Serenity
I think I've found a helpful website - Radiantrecovery.com - if you have time to look at it I would appreciate a second opinion of the methods they suggest - taking many months to eventually come off sugar, meantime healing bio chemistry by increased protein/complex carbs, etc - a 7 step process.

I am like a drug addict - sugar/refined carb is my drug. I feel so powerless against it at the mo

Hugz to you all!!
Gods blessings!

Hi Gill,

Had a quick look, the 7 step program looks alright, sensible however I really only rely on the Lord for what I am meant to be doing, he answers me, shows me the way and provides the answer/s. Please pray to him and see if this is what he wants u to do or if he has an alternative.

On this site it had sugar sensitiveness and at present am just overloaded from learning about sensory defensiveness an overloaded nervous systems. I cried because I felt at my wits end, and the Lord answered my simple plea and the answer was so simple that we can do it. he answered promptly, u see we r without medical help at present and we can't wait any longer because we r in crisis again and so now I learn about sensory diets and profiles.

Gill please ask the Lord, focusing on Christ, reading scripture and prayer, God's love, breath and the Holy Spirit are powerful combination...my son Dylan has now managed to rely totally on the Lord 5 times to get him through asthma, panic and sensory defense attacks and I feel relieved that we r free from having to rush to the hospital. Now I rely on the Lord totally for guidance and also have confirmed what has come to me with occupational therapists and they say it is correct. If God can do this for us in a specialised field that we know nothing about nor are traind, then he can do this for u to give up the sugar....and live a sugar free life...Jesus died so we can have liberty and overcome all sorts of things.

What is coming to me, rely on the Lord not on his creation to get u through...God's faith is awesome.

love and blessings in the Lord

Thank you so much serenity for all the time you have given to help me.
I really appreciate it
The Lord has given me faith to face many other 'impossible' mountains simply by relying totally on the Holy Spirit - why not this one too.
Thank you

Hi Gill,

Thankyou for your reply, it has been an incredible day full of the Lord's blessings. We ended up trying the potato thing, ended up only lasting two days, I thought if I eat another potato, I will throw up and Dylan felt the same...so we had a fast and we had it without any of our vitamins, powders, smoothie and guess what the Lord recharged us through praise and worship, I really felt alive through singing joyful songs to the Lord, dancing, playing the tambourine, drums, castanets.... reading the bible and reading a book on prayer to Dylan and how and why prayer works...

The Lord is awesome, the Holy Spirit is incredible and I love how our Father loves us and looks after us, especially after we trust him with everything, the solution comes and that is Jesus....

Have a wonderful day loving and blessed, The Lord can move mountains and does especially when we ask...

love and blessings in the Lord,

Serenity
