Back in August of 98 i went on vacation with my mom and sister. On the day before we were to leave we were going to go out to eat. I was watching Trama Life in the ER on TLC (Favor show) and my mom said go to the bathroom before we leave....i told her i didnt need to....anyways...we went downstairs and got to the cross-walk...i hit the button and the little man turned green. My older sister said ok lets go!!! As we started across the street...i looked to my left and saw two headlights coming toward us....
you have to understand even thought at the time i was 18 years old ...i'm still a little kid at heart and i like to run in front of my family and get to the car first to unlock the doors...as i was going to get my mom's keys out of her hand...it was as if a brick wall was put in front of me.
As i saw the headlights all i could do was turn my head and witness my mother flying threw the air...Her blonde hair flying and her hitting the ground and bouncing on the concrete spread eagle face down.....i have never seen something so terrible...as i think about it now it still gives me the hebbie gebbies.
You know how in the movies stuff is in slow motion if something bad happens...well that's how it was...all i could do was turn my head to see my mom in slow motion. And then the "brick wall" was gone....i SCREAMED and ran to my mother and wouldnt get off of her. I honestly thought she was dead....next thing i know i had someone grab my arm and pull me off of her and guy did a baseball slide on the concrete to hold my mom's head and a lady screaming in my ear OH MY LORD TAKE CARE OF THESE BABIES...At the time i thought this lady is CRAZY!!!
The police were there in like 2 minutes...a man who saw the whole thing went home told his wife what had happened and she told him to go back and tell the police what had happened. The hotel manager said that my mom just walked out in front of the van. But that wasnt the case.
PRAY THE LORD that my mom remembers NO pain...the last thing she remembers is that the little man turning green saying that she could go across.
The girl that hit her was in a custom made van...with TV, VCR, BED and sterio system in the back...she had NEVER been to Florida before she was from PA...and she JUST had gotten her licence...and that was the FIRST time she had ever gotten out by herself.
The girl came to the hospital and sat with my sister and i. After 4 hours we were able to see her...Her front teeth had been knocked out...she had a BAD black eye...and a hemitoma under her left arm..they thought her left arm was broke but it was just brused. Her earring in her left ear is bad and her joints ache a LOT. If she gets on the floor she has a HARD time getting up.
My mom is made of stone i think...
In July of this year my mom found out that she was going to have kidney surgery...They did the surgery on a Tuesday...they said that she wouldnt be out of the hospital until Friday or LATE Saturday...that she wouldnt feel like walking or eatting for about 2 days and she wouldnt be able to go to the bathroom by herself for at least a week. That was Tuesday...the next day she was eatting and sitting up...she had already started walking the halls and wanted to go to the bathroom by herself....had a catater in.
The next day (Thursday) they discarded her...they couldnt believe how good she was feeling. She is now having problems with her Kidneys again and we are afaird she might have to have surgery again. Since it's just my mom and I and my mom is a hairstyles working on commission we have been having money problems...
Mom being the rock of the family she was scared when she found out a few weeks back she would have to have ANOTHER surgery this time oral surgery...her face one day drooped and looked like she was having a stroke. Because of the Above accident with the van it left cyst in her mouth from the tissue damage to her gums...she went in and got the cysts (2 cysts) lanced...the other day my mom went back for a check up and they said that she might have another cyst in another tooth and they would have to go back in and do another surgery but this surgery she would have to loose that tooth....Because her front teeth were knocked out she has caps on where they use to be.
Lord you know i praise you for my mother...yes she is VERY VERY VERY protective of me but i know that she loves me and just wants to protect me as long as i'm under her roof. You know all the things that my mom has endured and I praise you for ALL the strength you have given her... with my parents divorce, the van hitting her, her oral surgery you have made her a stronger person and she knows that you should take life for granted.
I hope this testomony will show anyone who reads it that God is GOOD and is in your life always and with his love and will all things that happen, happen for a reason...if it's just to show us that we shouldnt take life for granted.

Hi Robin,
What an incredible story. Thankyou for your testimoney, it encourages me throught the tough situations as a mother/parent we are put through. It reminds us how motherhood can strengthen us and makes us witnesses to the commitment and love of a parent for their children and family. It is also nice to hear the appreciation of a daughter. I lost my mother over 8 years now and I still really miss her. Although she is not on this planet she is with me and I remember her strength and love for us expressed not through words but through actions and behaviours. It reminds me of the Bible let us not love in word but in deed and in action.
God bless God, u, your mother and your story...
love an blessings in the Lord,

Robin I am happy that God is blessing your mom so. She surely is a strong person. Faith in God and His loving kindness toward us is rewarding and we know He is no respector of persons. What He did for people of the bible He will do for us. He changes not. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
