Praise The Lord, Everyone!

My new husband, Ronald, and I were married on November 23, 2002. We had a beautiful ceremony with less than 20 people in attendance. We planned it that way because we both know that it's not the amount of money you spend that counts, it's what's in your heart when you go before the Lord.

We had a slightly larger reception, with about 40 or so in attendance. Ronald is from Uganda, so he enlisted some friends from his country to cook some of the foods that are traditionally served from his country. I am African-American, so I got together with one of my friends to serve some of our favorite dishes. So, we had a very nice spread, and we enjoyed the company of all of our friends who were able to come.

The most exciting part for me was the honeymoon! smile I left all of that planning to Ronald, so I had no idea where we were going. He's really good at keeping a secret, so he allowed me to think that he hadn't found a place for us to go. I didn't care, though. As long as we were together, that was all that mattered to me. I didn't find out our destination until we got to the airport. He took me to Old San Juan, Puerto Rico! big grin smile That was some place I had never been, so I was like a giddy, little girl! We were only there for 4 days, but we had the best time! I told him over and over how much I really enjoyed myself.

We hiked on the trail around Fort El Morro where we learned about the wall that was built back in the 1500's to protect Puerto Rico from being captured by other countries. Then we went to the top of the wall to see what it looked like from a higher view. We went on a horse and carriage ride around Old San Juan to learn about it's history. I was disappointed that we didn't get a chance to visit any of the museums. We had great food, too. We also rented a car and made our way to the El Yunque Rainforest where we found a hidden treasure which was a beautiful waterfall.

I wish I had time to go into detail, but I wanted to tell everyone thank you so much for your prayers and well-wishes. Ronald and I have been so happy! We have our ups and downs just like all couples do, but we love each other very much. I thank God for the blessings! wink

Kathy, I wish you the very best in your marriage! You seem very happy and I am happy for you both. Ronald made a good choice!

Your description of your honeymoon brought back memories of mine! smile When I married my husband was stationed in Puerto Rico (Naval duty) so in a sense I spent my honeymoon in Puerto Rico too (15 months). cool The rain forest was a very unique experience that I will never forget. The fern really left an impression with me. We spent our days off seeing every site of interest on the island. I do have many fond memories of the people we met while there and a different world of experiences. I'm glad you enjoyed it too!

May God be with you and help you grow together as one.

so glad to see your message. I'm happy that your wedding went so well and your honeymoon was such fun. Educational trips are the most fun especially involving history. May God keep you happy and healthy.

Kathy,

Thanks for replying back on the message board I gave you on the post; the coming wedding.

Holy Father, You have given Kathy and Roland something sacred- Marriage. Hear now Lord the words I pray for Kathy and Her Husband.

God, in accordance with Your Word...

I pray that every Day of their lives be in your hands. That they would enjoy the Love and Blessings you have given them. May their marriage be true and pure.

Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that may inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:8,9

Once again I give God all the Glory for your Special Day!!!!!!!!!!!
