Praise The Lord, Everyone!

It has been a while since I have visited the message board. I just wanted to share a praise report with everyone.

I recently received my official calling to the ministry. A couple of years ago, I was going through a very difficult situation. During that time, the Lord had given me a dream. In the dream, I looked down at myself and saw that I was wearing a regular skirt and blouse. I walked into a small room and looked off to one side. I saw a baby girl sitting in a baby chair. I knew that baby to be my baby. The next time I looked down at myself, I was wearing a cream colored minister's robe with maroon crosses on it. I was standing in front of a window that had an altar below it. Looking out the window, I saw that morning was coming. At the end of the dream, I was leading a small group in prayer. I awoke with the sound of the people praising the Lord still ringing in my ears. I could hear them speaking in tongue and shouting to the Lord, even after I woke up.

A few weeks ago, I was out taking a morning walk. I had a headphone set and I was listening to Bishop Noel Jones. He was at my church for our annual Bible conference. I was playing the tape from that conference. Once I finished listening to the tape, I was feeling so full in my spirit and I was praising the Lord. I was at home at this point, sitting in a chair in the living room. The Lord had me think about a time when I was studying His Word and taking notes in my spiral notebook. I asked the Lord what Scripture He would like me to read. He led me to Ephesians 2. I went to get my Bible and began reading. When I got to verse 10, I felt a tickle inside of me.

It says,
"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God gave us in advance to do."

I knew the Lord was trying to tell me something, but I didn't know exactly what, so I prayed that He would help me to apply the Word He had given me to my life. For weeks, I kept seeing Eph 2:8-10 all over the place.

At one point, I felt the Lord telling me to fast. I resisted because after being pregnant for nine months and then breastfeeding for two more (my baby girl) I became unused to giving up food for a day. I eat mostly on the right side of my mouth because my gum between my last two teeth in the back on the left side get really irritated when food gets stuck there. Well, after I resisted when the Lord told me to fast, the good side of my mouth also began to get pain in the gums at the very back. It went on for a few days, getting increasingly worse until finally I remembered that the Lord told me to fast. I asked the Lord for forgiveness for resisting, then I went on a two day fast. At the end of the second day, He gave me a verse in Hosea. I don't remember it off hand. The only part I remember was where it said "...it is time to seek the Lord..."

Then the Lord reminded me of the dream He gave me a couple of years ago. The baby girl in the dream was my daughter, Kaila (pronounced kI-la). I always get amazed at how, after all the pieces of the puzzle are in place, the Lord lays everything out on the table for us. The purpose for my baby girl being born (I was not expecting to have another child, so I resisted that part of the dream) was to allow me to be able to quit my job so that I can stay home and take care of my children. Staying home with the kids helps me to not be as busy as I would be if I were still working. This means that the Lord was moving the job out of my way so that I could go into the ministry (that which He prepared in advance for me to do). Smile Once I got the message, that it was time for me to answer my calling to the ministry, the pain in my mouth began to subside. Now, I can eat again on that side with no problems.

The Lord was showing me that once the baby girl is a few months old (She's four-months-old), that will be the time for the dream to be fulfilled.

I am very happy because I have known for a while that I was called to the ministry. I knew that it would come in the Lord's time, as everything does. Smile

Please pray for me that I do only that which the Lord intends for me to do, that I never veer off His path, and that I make Him proud. Smile

Thank you and may the Lord bless you all, in Jesus' Mighty Name! Smile

Kathy,

I will pray that God will guide you down His path He has already laid out for you. Praise God for His word and Holy Spirit which He uses to speak to us.

You, O LORD , keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.(Psalm 18:28)

Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path. (Psalm 119:105)

Your brother in Christ,

Shawn

Praise The Lord, Shawn T and Walter, Jr.

I thank you for your words of encouragement, and I pray that the Lord will bless you both, in Jesus' Name! Smile

I went to meet with my pastor. He's going to have someone to contact me about being on the Visitation and Bereavement committees because this is where God has called me to be at this time. With the Visitation Ministry, I will be going to visit people in hospitals and praying for their healing. The Bereavement Ministry will call for me to visit those who have lost loved ones and help them through their grieving periods. I'm very excited about it. I know that it's going to be challenging.

I will try to manage my time properly so that I can come to the board more often to share some testimonies and offer words of encouragement to others here, as well.

During my meeting with my pastor, I told him that I felt that the Lord wants me to go to Bible College so that I can learn The Word more thoroughly. He encouraged me to try to go to Bible Study regularly first because I have to be able to commit to that before anything else.

It's been pretty hard for me because I have my two small children (ages 2-and-a-half and almost 5 months) who make it kind of hard for me to be able to concentrate on The Word when I'm in church. I'm also a choir member. I usually take the kids with me to choir rehearsal (they seem to like music better than listening to someone talking), but on Sundays the kids stay with my husband. He goes to another church, but he hasn't been very faithful about going because of the dilemma with the kids. My pastor did express understanding about my situation, but I do want to be able to commit myself better.

Please pray for me. Also, I am open to any suggestions anyone might have.

Thanks and God bless. Smile

Kathy k,
How are you? I will certainly pray for you to know for certain what God wants you to do and how to go about it. In His perfect timing, He will work out all the details for you and confirm you are on the right track as you trust Him and obey Him every day, every step. We grow by adding faith to faith one thing at a time. Keep seeking God's will as you are doing. Congradulations on the birth of your girl! Praise God!

Kathy K,

Father God,
I lift up Kathy to you and pray your blueprint manifest before her spiritual eyes. May you continue to shape her family for your service and glory!

Kathy,
I really miss you and I'M VERY HAPPY TO HEAR YOUR WORDS FROM YOUR HEART. I myself have little toddlers. My wife and I had baby Ryan on 6/2/04. He is a blessing. My wife and I had to make some changes ourselves at Church. They understand and encourage us to keep trying to be there. God always makes away for us.

Heavenly Father,
May you renew, refresh Kathy as you mold her ministry. May the radiant light of your Word glow through Kathy. May all doors be open with clear paths for her and her family.

Kathy is trusting with her heart and is surrounded by prayer with other disciples that love her and care for her.

May your love continue to surround and sustained her while she learns and leans on you Word and promises of thy truth.

My prayers are with you and the family!

God is working in you and for you! Glory to God!!

Good to hear about your new family!

Bless you! my sister!

Praise The Lord, John!

Congratulations on your new baby! Smile

May the Lord bless you and your family and help you through the difficult times. Smile

Kaila will be six-months-old in another week. She is so smart, too. She is already sitting up. And she looks just like me. Big Grin She likes to laugh, too. Her big brother Princeton just loves her.

I'm glad the Lord blessed me to be at home with my babies. It gets to be trying sometimes, but I wouldn't trade it.

Aloha & God bless you - it's a lovely thing to hear such good news blessed are the feet upon the mountains of the bringers of the good news =) I wanted to say hi & thank you for your testimony I just wanted to say that the verse that hit you Hos 10:12 also hit me & I have been preaching it on the side of the road for 2 weeks at least to anyone that will listen: "Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you." it's awesome & then I got Nah 1:3 "The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet." Praise God for you!
