I am 41 years of age and recently enrolled in community college, my major being Medical Office Assisting. I have always been one who never understood math beyond the basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division so when I went to take my placement test, I did not expect to do well in the math part. I was right. I scored so low that I was required to enroll in basic math my first term, and this math was very difficult for me. Before I began my first assignment, I prayed "Dear Heavenly Father, please touch whatever part of my brain understands math so that I may understand it well enough to pass this class." Throughout my assignments I continued to pray that same prayer. Many times I hit brick walls, not being able to understand what I was assigned to do and the tears would flow, the frustration would mount and I would feel like giving up. That's when I would close my math book, get on my knees and pray harder for help in understanding. I have also been blessed with a husband who is a math whiz, so he helped me through it, explaining the same concepts over and over until I finally understood! Thank God for giving my hubby patience to help me, as I know I was difficult to work with at times! To make this long story shorter, I passed my math class with a 97%!!! Of course the glory belongs to God. I just had to share this with my fellow Christians. Some would think I am silly for asking for help from God with math, but thankfully God really cared about my success and guided me through the subject I always hated. Next comes pre-algebra and you can rest assured that I will be praying that same prayer! God Bless You All, and thanks for letting me share! Oh, and I finished my first term with a 4.0!! PRAISE GOD!!!

Brenda,
We all need to hear how God answers our prayer when you feel we lack in some areas. Thank You Lord for hearing Brenda's heart. It goes to show when we ask in faith he hears us. May the Lord bless your future while you stand on his word and promises. God Bless You! 22 Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23 John Trevino |

Dear Brenda,
I'm very, VERY proud of you. Now when you face the next Math Goliath you will be able to say; "The same God who was with me when I defeated the fractions and percents is the same God who is walking with me now (and forever)!" Thanks for sharing!! |
