A JEALOUS GOD

For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
-- DEUTERONOMY 4:24

Our God is a consuming fire. He is only satisfied when His love totally consumes us. We usually think of a jealous person as someone resentful and suspicious, but the Lord's jealousy on our behalf is something that should be precious to us! He has the complete right to our lives. He gave us life, and He wants to protect us from anything that could harm us. That is why He has commanded His children to worship no other gods, allowing nothing to distract us from His consuming love. The Lord opposes anything that hinders our relationship with Him (Deut. 6:15). He knows the danger of other gods, how they will lure us away, deceive us, and leave us empty. He will tolerate nothing that takes precedence over our love for Him. Our faithfulness to God assures us of the abundant life He wants to give us. If we reject Him, He will pursue us until we return to Him. We should not resent the fact that God wants to guard our relationship with Him. It should bring us comfort. Our relationship with God should be our top priority. It should dictate how we spend our time, our money, and our energy. If certain people or our possessions separate us from God, we must reexamine our hearts and give our devotion first to Him, as He commands. God wants each of us to love Him with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength (Mark 12:30). Our love for God should extend to every corner of our lives. God loved us so much that He gave us His own Son. Let us respond by giving Him our highest devotion in return.

for his compassions never fail.

great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

Well hello JOHN! , and how are you all doing? , esp. on this blessed day of our Lord and precious saviour Jesus Christ of Nazareth of course!

as your means a certain thing, as you might be familar with, inwhich my son had been named (John/that God had been very gracious to us!) also, but my point here is to share the way that my son had got his name of John,

which means: God has been that gracious to us as what your post identifies, and we should love him by keeping his sayings to do them as well,

but I would ask you, would you trad your name for anything? , and knowing what it means, well, this is the way that I would assume that your title fits your post, by being A Jealous, but very Just! with us,

this is what I feel your post is very awesome, because it reminds me of when your name is the same as my son name, but I did not know of its meaning until later, inwhich he was named by me at the time of his delivery 24yrs. ago while his mother was on the table on 9th. floor at Charity Hospital,

but thing about that was when I was Illuminated by an Angle's presence at that time for his name of John!, inwhich my wife at that time was going to name him Corey which is his middle name, but she did named him John! instead,

and I'm hoping you don't mind me sharing this with you John! .

Love you all always, your brother in Christ:

Love you all always,

Walter Preston, Jr. and Deborah, Wa.

I love your post. So many times we grieve the holy spirit by putting things before Him and make time for the things of the world but not for him. I currently am trying to change some of my habits of studying the word and praying in the afternoon to doing that in the morning or at least pray first before I even eat. I want to give God more of me and this is a step. I don't want to be guilty of idolatry by seeking after "things" and non important things.
