Hi All,

This idea came out of my son's compassion for the homeless people he saw in Sydney recently. The idea is to tithe a Bible and Blanket continually (weekly, forthnightly, monthly) and give to a homeless person or a person that could do with it. The idea has grown and we thought we could also add some cuppa soups, two minute noodles, tea, coffee, long life milke and a cup, possibly also some uplifting praise and worships poems and songs and put together a comfort package.

My son and I have bought two new testaments (they have a 30 day bible study in the back) and we were blessed to buy two blankets. I have also been praying of where we need to put these comfort packages. The great news is yesterday a friend told me that at one of the Christian Bookstores they were asking for these packages as they have had access to some homeless people in the shop. I have told a couple of people and one lady is making bags to put these things into and is passing the word on. It looks like it might be a good community event.

If anyone out there is wondering where they could tithe, perhaps it could start in your local area. There are a lot of people who are hurting in this world, who have no shelter or food. Who could appreciate some protection from the cold. To think that through us God/Christ/Holy Spirit could bring Warmth, Comfort and hope to people that really need it and have lost their faith and way.

That is a wonderful thing you all are doing. I will pray that you will have more than enough to touch as many souls as needed.

Although, I have been blessed enough not to be homeless and I thank God for that. I pray for those who are less fortunate and I ask that God would deliver them. I also ask that we who are not homeless would not look at homeless people as people who want to be out there, but as children of God just like us. Offer a hand when possible.

I thank God for you and your son's compassion. It is the Lord in you and your sons heart that makes you care. I pray that you touch many lives with this ministry of giving. I thank God that I am able to give 200 daily breads booklets a month, to the homeless, and to people that need a touch from God. I pray that we can continue to reach to many, that need love,and God's touch. The Bible says: In this the Love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:9-11

John that is awesome 200 Daily Bread Booklets per month. I am encourage and I pray that God gives us the increase, I would love to be able to give 200 care packages per month, I feel inspired.....

Yesterday at working I told a co-worker (who is a God fearing) woman about your bible and blanket idea, she thought it was wonderful. In fact, her family for the past three years has been purchasing undies, tees and things like that and before they open their gifts on Christmas they take them downtown Dallas and pass them out. I thought that was pretty awesome.

You know I pray that as a believer I will not take God for granted anymore. I am guilty of that. I often find myself being dissatisfied with the way something turns out in my life, but you know who am I that I should be disappointed the way something turned out in MY life. In fact, since Christ gave his life on the cross I will never suffer as much as him.

Lord,
Give others and me a spirit of not taking you for granted. Amen

I think that is wonderful work you and your son are doing. The Lord will surely bless you both much. As christiians we should all each day ask God " Lord, what shall I do for the poor, widow or fatherless ?"

Amen and smiles for both of you. That's lovely to hear of a lady that hands out gifts on Christmas day and I will think of this family and may God bless their work.

This year for us we will celebrate Christmas differently....last year we resisted a lot of the consumer hype, this year we have no presents to exchange for each other. You see we already received an awesome gift that nothing could top it, my son's and my relationship is so awesome and everyday it grows tenfold in the Lord, we can't thank him enough for this continuous gift. To think six months ago there was rebellion and arguing constantly, disrespect and disregard and my son told me today that six months ago he didn't really love me and I know he didn't appreciate what we were doing or what the Lord was doing in our lives. Now he has become such a blessing and he is so thankful I am his parent and he constantly tells me how much he loves me and vice versa. So for us it will be a thanking God for the many things he blesses us with, a day of thinking of God, Christ & Holy Spirit a day of prayer and worship. I also can't thank him enough for what he is doing in Dylan it is beautiful to watch his faith and love unfolding....
