This morning as I was watching the Morning Joe Show, I received a revelation. If everyone took a step back and realized that God uses every natural disaster to teach us a spiritual lesson.
Each time adversity strikes we allow satan to place fear and doubt in our hearts. Because of our greed and ambition we have allowed BP, who never had our best interest in mind, to open up a deep dark hole in the earth that is spewing out tons of oil each day that can not be controlled. BP solution to this disaster is to flush heavy dirt down the hole so that it will push the oil back into the earth so that they can fill the hole. The problem with this is that oil is heavier than dirt and they have to be careful of the pressure buildup so everything won’t blowout. As always people are playing the blame game by pointing fingers and State Officials want to throw rocks and sand to build a barrier to contain more oil from reaching the shore. Today multitudes are praying earnestly that BP will fix the problem. (Deuteronomy 1:5-8) (Isaiah 28:16-19) Maybe it’s time for all of us to do some soul searching within. Because of our dependence on oil every one of us has no right to point fingers and throw rocks at anyone. We all lust after a comfortable and materialistic world. But when it is time to deal with the consequences of our actions we let our fears and doubts overcome our Faith. (Psalm 46:1) (John 16:33) If we look at this Natural disaster our Spiritual condition is the same. In the Beginning, mankind was created in the likeness of God. (Genesis 5:1) Because of Adams disobedience everyone is born in sin. Therefore, our natural nature (self) has power and control of our hearts until we make a change within. (Romans 12:1-2) As we go through daily experiences we continually open up our hearts and allow our attitude, actions, and behavior to be controlled by our greed and ambitions. If we continue to feed off this greed and unconcern our life begins to lose the glamour, prosperity, and protection of the world and our hearts soon become void. (Hebrews 4:12-13) As our life spews out of control, we become depressed and desolate. Once we are perfectly persuaded that we can not fix the problem in our life we begin to call on Christ. Only then can God get our attention and begin revealing and exposing who we really are. Through the Holy Spirit, Christ destroys our haughty spirits, ego, pride, conceit, and self-sufficient attitudes; until we receive spiritual victory over each experience. (Acts 20:23) As our Faith in Christ becomes stronger and our spiritual life regains its power, that which God created in the Beginning, our Faith begins to plug that dark hole of unbelief in our hearts. If we continue to live outside of God’s “Will” for our life and continue to use the world’s system of values as our reference, we will continue to sink deeper and deeper and remain surrounded by the darkness of the world. The multitudes today that are praying for BP to save their future should exhibit that same power of prayer for their deliverance for Eternal Life. (Proverbs 3:5) (Philippians 1:6).God will wash away the lies and worries of the world if we remain content in Him, regardless of our circumstances. AMEN (Proverbs 19:21) (Philippians 4:12) AMEN |
