Seeing that the below scriptures indicates that John the Baptist and Jesus Christ were 6 months apart, John the Baptist being the 1st. child from Elizsabeth, and Jesus being the 2nd child from Mary.

But according to the below statement we read that the prophecy of both John the Baptist and Jesus Christ of Nazareth, were relatives at their conception/birth though Elizabeth being the wife of the priest Zacharias, and that by Mary being related to Elisabeth: Luke 1:36. but a person would have to/must! read the whole story in order to get the full picture, <P>

1. Since the couses! /an onward movement/a cycle of one week/1-7 days in counting. I Chronicles 24: 1-"7-10"-19. Genealogy/Priesthood order. were not dismissed II Chronicles 23:8- the Priest dismissed not the courses, I Chr. 24:1, I Chr. 25:1

2. As we read in the book of Luke 1: 5, we find that it was the course of Abia within the priest named Zacharias of his service was the 8th. course. I Chronicles 24: 10. Order or division. Luke 1: 5-19. The Angel Gabriel announces the birth of John the Baptist to the priest Zacharias at that time, which Could have been either the month Sivan/3rd. month of the Hebrew sacred calendar/May-June of the Roman/Julian/Gregorian calendar or the month of Chislev/9th. month of the Hebrew sacred calendar/November-December of the Roman/Julian/Gregorian calendar. (each priest served twice a year plus Holy Feast days).

3. So as stated above, if Zacharias was serving his course in the month of Sivan/May-June when the Angel Gabriel appeared to him, than John the Baptist would have been born in the month of Adar/February-March. Then 6 months later Jesus Christ of Nazareth/our LORD and Saviour was born, brings us to the month of Elul/August-September, as being His/Jesus Christ birth. Or:

Who WAS Born on December 25? If Jesus Christ was not born on December 25, who was? In other words, whose birthday is the whole "Christian world" really celebrating on December 25, though they call it the birth of "Christ"? Or, to put it another way, what "Christ" are they talking about? The word "Christ," remember, is merely the translation of the Greek word Christos, which literally means "Anointed one" -- it comes from the Hebrew word Moshiach, from whence we get the word "Messiah." <P>

So what "anointed one" was born on December 25? Let us take out our magnifying glass, and like Sherlock Holmes, do some careful detective work, and see if we can solve the mystery -- the puzzle of why the whole world observes the birthday of Jesus Christ on a day on which He was not even remotely born! In the year 274 Aurelian declared the god -- now called Deus Sol Invictus -- the official deity of the Roman Empire; he built a splendid temple of the sun in Rome . . . and set the sun's birthday celebration (naturalis solis invicti) ON DECEMBER 25, the date then accepted for the winter solstice (also in his solar character the BIRTHDAY OF MITHRAS). In the time of Constantine the cult of Deus Sol Invictus was still at its height, and the portrait of the sun-god was on the coins of Constantine . . . . <P>

Likewise it must have been in this time and with the intent to transform the significance of AN EXISTING SACRED DATE that the birthday of Jesus, which had been celebrated in the East on January 6 . . . was placed in Rome ON DECEMBER 25, THE DATE OF THE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF SOL INVICTUS. This date appears in a list of dates probably compiled in A.D. 336 and published in the Roman city calendar, edited by Filocalus, for the year 354" (Finegan, p.211-212, emphasis mine). Are we beginning to get the picture? <P>

This was in the fourth century AFTER Christ! At this time, the Church moved to incorporate the birthday of the sun god into the so-called "Christian" calendar, and converted his "birth day" into the birth day of CHRIST Himself! That which was distinctly and definitely pagan now was "baptized," and by some act of "magic" was transformed into something "Christian"! At least, to the observer, it appeared to be "Christian." It was now called "Christian." But in truth, it still had a pagan heart and core!

Hi,

I had this belief that as it is not told or explained in the bible about Jesus's birth, why celebrate it.

But now I am under the impression that this might be a very good way for the preaching of gospel in those secular places like my company (which celebrate christmas without knowing what is it all about).

I have made it clear to my collegues that Christmas is not about Jesus birthday and we dont take it that way, but rejoice in it that a Saviour has born to save the world and to provide an eternal life with GOD the Father.

I am using this opertunity to tell people the facts about Jesus and what He did and why he came to earth. In a place like India where all the relegions co-exist and when one will take offense if we tell them that the only GOD is YHWH and HIS son is Jesus, I thought this will be a better time to tell people about what christ have done in my life and what HE can do to theirs.

I would like to know your opinion.

Hi Sibu! I believe this is a very good attitude to have during Christmas. Very well done. Never miss an opportunity to tell others about the reason for our hope.

Thank you Steve. Please pray for all in my company and for me that I will get the guidance from the holy spirit that I can use myself and my life to lead them to Jesus and to witness the way GOD wants me to do.

Some times I get that wierd kind of fear when someone questions me in front of other people. I am trying hard not to but I happens. But this does not stop me from talking "if I am filled with spirit". But else I back off for another opertune time.
